Delysia & Michael

“Delysia?” A voice called from across the hall and down the stairs, as it had been, sporatically, for the past fifteen minutes. The redheaded songbird had been ignoring these calls, in favor of primping and dressing.
“Delysia are you ready to go?” Michael burst into the room, whining like a child who'd been woken up for church. Delysia shurgged her robe off, and tilted her head, a sure sign that she was 'thinking.'
“Almost, darling. Almost.” She sighed, and picked up an eyelash curler, serriptusiouly watching Michael's reaction in the mirror. Michael strode across the room to sit on their bed and wait.
“There,” Delysia said, admiring her reflection. “Finished.” She turned to face her husband. “Let's go.”
“I don't think I'm going tonight.” Michael sighed, laying back on the bed. “I'm not one for parties.” Delysia sighed, stamping her foot.
“Michael,” She whined, “you promised!” She was not going to go to this party alone. Even if it was all people she knew, she felt like she needed Michael by her side tonight.

Peter & Mary Jane
Mary-Jane Watson-Parker was only sure of a hanful of things. She knew the tree that she had so painstakingly decorated the week before, with ornaments made of aritcles about Peter's super hero work, and her own acting career, would still be downstairs. She knew that, though there wouldn't be many presents under their tree (again), there would be just enough, including her special gift for Peter.
She was sure that Aunt May would stop by that afternoon, and end up staying for dinner, and Mary-Jane knew that the dinner was already prepared and in the refrigerator. Mary-Jane was sure of all these things. They happened every year, and barring a disaster, they would keep happening.
The only thing Mary-Jane was unsure of, was if her husband would be there to open presents with her the next morning.
