Wendy Darling had moved her bed to the window years ago. If anyone asked, it was simply because she liked the way the sun gently roused her each morning. It was the excuse that her parents bought, when she asked permission to move her furniture.

In truth, Wendy was waiting for someone. She wasn't exactly sure who she was waiting for, though her brothers seemed convinced it was Peter Pan. She wanted to be convinced she was waiting for Peter. That would make sense after all, and she was practically bereft with grief when he left her.

But her dreams were filled with men of a darker complexion, and they left her utterly puzzled.

People weren't supposed to change. They just weren't. The little boy looked around him, for at eighteen, he still felt like a child, and watched the faces of those he had grown up with. They had changed, and unmistakably for the worse.

It was like watching a horrific sequel to his life. Where his best friend from elementary was getting shitfaced, and his soccer team was doing shots off the girl he kissed in kindergarden.

"I'm leaving." He shouted to the person next to him, not really caring if they heard him or not, before heading out to his car.

"Excuse me, sir. You came from inside, right?" A girl, his own age, though she seemed younger, got his attention. "Can you take me out of here, please?"

He nodded, and opened the car door.
