Not that any of their cases are good, because they always get called in to help after people have already been killed. But some are worse than others, and this one involved kids, which is always hardest on all of them, even harder on David now, too, because of Michael. And so not only is he surprised to see them on the tarmac, but he realizes he really needed that, and there's a look of silent gratitude in his eyes as he approaches them.

"Now this is a homecoming," he smiles. His arms wraps around MIchael's shoulders, fingers stroking over his hair as he leans in to kiss Juliet. And then he kneels down so he can get a hug from Michael.

Michael hugs him, then pulls back just enough to look at him. "We're going to get ice cream, okay?"

When David is standing again, Juliet smiles, stealing another quick kiss. "That was all Michael's idea."

She never did cut her hair except for a few dead inches off of the bottom. It's long and healthy looking now though, is the difference. And it's this long because of the way it feels when David runs his fingers through it.

"Sounds perfect," he smiles back at his son, glad that his son actively wants to go get ice cream.

He does love running his fingers through her hair, and he does it now as he leans in to kiss her cheek. "I missed you," he says quietly. He could linger against her like this for a long time, but Michael's bound to be getting restless, and ready to grab a treat, so he looks back down at his son. "So what kind of ice cream are you gonna get, kiddo?" He asks, as he starts walking back to his car.

"Chocolate," she says, which is his favorite. Juliet pauses though.

"Wait. Michael, do you want to ride with dad? I have my car." Why she didn't get a taxi, she's not sure.

"Okay. I can tell him about school," the little boy agrees.
