When Juliet gets home from the motorpool, she's already been told by Amy that James is going to Tahiti for something related to being the head of security. He, of course, has every intention of keeping their dinner date. He doesn't even knock now; well, he does knock, but then he only pauses for a second before walking right in.

And then he's grinning at her, looking quite pleased by the aroma. "Well, ain't I in for a treat," he says, stepping closer. When he sees the bottle of wine opened, he takes the liberty of pouring himself a glass. "There a reason you started in on the wine early, or shouldn't I ask?"

"Long day," she says with a little smile.

"Word around the island is that you're getting off this rock," she says, not quite looking at him, and yet trying to keep her tone light.

He buys the light tone, but the fact that she's drinking leads him to suspect she might be a little more troubled by this than she wants to let on. He leans against the countertop, resting his elbow on the surface, completely nonchalant.

"I'll only be gone a week, sweetheart," he says. "Just gonna miss me too much, ain't ya?"

She finally looks up at him. And this time, when she's usually so good at it, she can't keep her emotions off of her face.

"You'll finally be off of this island, James. Without having to build a raft or try to get on a freighter. They're just...letting you go."
