Appearance:
Due to CLAMP's drawing style and the fact they rarely give us a height of a character, Fai has been drawn to look pretty tall compared to other characters as well as looking pretty skinny, so in his case when it came to fighting looks can be deceiving as the case shows. He has long blond hair which is his natural hair colour and is usually put into a ponytail. This hair goes well with his blue eyes, that is where his magic is.

As for the outfits he will wear when he enters, well it's one that comes from Clow country and is mainly white with a blue outline and a triangle shaped hood thing on the back, though usually Fai usually changes clothes often.

Abilities:
Fai for starters is able easily detect magic, so if anyone has a magical ability he is able to pick up on it. Though I am sure he will not know what type of magic it is exactly, he still can sense the magic as proven when he sensed where a fake wall was because there was someone with magic ability behind it.

He may not look like a fighter, but Fai has proven to be able to fight like a pro. Though unlike Kurogane who would fight with a sword, Fai uses long distance weapons like a bow and arrow and in one case used a stick to help hit bubbles that stung like acid if they hit you.

Not only can he detect magic, but he can use protection spells and any spells that harm people, this had been noted in a flashback when Fai mentioned the fact that any spell that was to help would always vanish from his mind once he learned it, but any spells that harmed people he would still always remember.

Fai is a pretty powerful mage since his grade D in Celes meant he was the highest ranked mage from here he was from. Also the magic comes from his eyes, the left one increases in power the more it is uses while the right one decreases. He gave the right eye magic up in Nihon, but has since got his left one back, thus his magic returned.

Personality:
When he first came into the picture, Fai was someone who appeared to be a happy go lucky kind of guy, who was always smiling, always seemingly happy to the general annoyance of one of the traveling companions that he went around with. Though when he first met Kurogane, he never really called him by his actual name. Instead nicknames were created as he liked the reaction he got off the other man when he did call him by the nicknames instead of the real one.

With this happy go lucky side, it may seem like he is an idiot, but in fact he is very good at being able to observe someone and is able to determine if someone has had fighting experience in the past previously just by watching them fight, or at least if they had some type of training before. Though he rarely will show it himself, he is a very skilled fighter when it is necessary, but usually he gets someone else to fight or finds some way out of it or when he does fight, he just would not try very hard to fight for his own life unless there is someone he is close in danger then he would get more involved. Although later and after some character development he has learned to appreciate himself a tiny bit.

When he was turned into a vampire after getting his eye ripped out, he started to become colder and more distant to most of his traveling mates, except for Sakura who he served like a loyal servant saying that he would do anything for her. He even started to call Kurogane by his name because he had wanted to break the bond that he himself had made in the first place between them because it was something that Fai did not want. This goes with the side of him that hides behind his smiles, this was because he didn't want to get close to anyone.

Fai does have a way with his words and actions in that he does express strong emotion, as he has shown on a couple of occasions when he has hit Kurogane when he was angry or annoyed, but usually this would not happen often. Fai may not want to or at least use to not want to, but he can get attached to people and then worry about their safety compared to his own. Officially from the point I have taken him from, he has shown now to care generally for his comrades and even helped them in the final battle.

Lastly by the end or the point he was taken from, Fai has started to instead of faking his actions and acting like he did origianlly, he is now generally is starting to show that personality and is starting to be able to smile for real, instead of faking it like he used to.

Strengths:
- Strong need to be able to protect the people he cares about. Though before this point he didn't want to get close to people.

Weaknesses:
- He might not be as strong as he use to in terms of magic .
- Bad habit of being a lying fool, he isn't fully honest, but at the same time he doesn't lie nearly 100% of the time like he use to.
- At times he still avoids getting too close if needs be.

History:
Fai's story started in the country of Valeria. One day the king's brother and his wife were blessed with a child. A son, but not just one son. In fact, they were blessed with two sons named Yuui and Fai. Usually this would be such a happy event, but no, any twins that were born in Valeria are considered to be ones that brings much misfortune. Misfortune did come the country's way as their father died, their mother then committed suicide because of her regreting having twins and from then on more misfortune would continue.

It was soon decided that in order for the world to get rid of the misfortune, they had to make their lives miserable, but neither twin wanted to kill the other. So instead they were sent to live in a tower, where magic could not be used and where time never flows, so you would not age no matter how long you live there. Fai, who at the time was named Yuui was placed at the bottom, while his brother Fai was locked up at the top. They were never to leave the place and that is where they stayed until one day, when the king had gone insane and killed everyone within Valeria except for himself, Yuui and Fai. The king had gone to the tower after he had executed the citizens of Valeria, landing right in front of Yuui and with his last word before stabbing himself in the neck said to him that they were paying for their sin, by being the last ones to stay alive in there country.

Eventually a guy by the name of Fei Wong Reed had appeared from behind a gap between their world and where he was at the time. He had given Yuui's brother a choice of whom to save. Himself or his brother. He had chosen his brother and the cost of that was his life. Yuui had this part wiped from his memory so that he thought that he had chosen to save himself and caused the death of his brother, the one that was the closest to him. Fei Wong had convinced Yuui and put two curses on him, one of which was forgotten about, the other was firmly in place and one he knew all about. All of this was because Fei Wong had convinced him that he could bring his brother back if he did what he ordered him. Fei Wong told him that someone will soon pick him up and take him away from that place and that he would soon after that go on a journey with a princess and a clone, as well as another man within their party. He also added that he had to take down any obstacle that got in the way of this mission, meaning that he had to possibly kill anyone who tried to stop them. The last thing mentioned was the fact that he would find two feathers, one of which he would give to his brother, to stop him from rotting. The second he would take on the journey and give to the princess when he saw her.

Soon after this that Ashura had found him and taken him back to where he was from, the country of Celes. After being sorted and being asked his name, to which he gave him his brothers name 'Fai,' Ashura had given him a last name 'Flourite' which was a stone that the country had and soon Fai earned the letter D to represent the rank he was as a mage. This was the start of Fai under the new name Fai D. Flourite. It's unsure of when exactly Fai got the tattoo on his back, but Ashura had put it there to restrain Fai's magic, so that one day Fai would be able to break the first curse and kill him. Although Ashura wiped this from Fai's memory so that he wouldn't remember what exactly he had been told. Instead he had been told something else. Is anyone seeing a pattern here?

While helping out people with an avalanche Fai came across two feathers, one of which he used to create Chii, who looked like their mother. Her job was to watch over his brother and to stop him from rotting. It was not until some years later that a monster started going around Celes and started killing innocent people. Fai said that he would find and defeat whatever was causing this to happen, but found out later that it was Ashura himself who was the cause for it all. Fai had blamed himself for it all happening because of the curse of the twins that was always around him, but it turned out that Ashura had known that his magic grew the more he killed people and that this was always going to happen. Fai was unable to kill Ashura, so instead he cast a spell on him and put him into a deep sleep for the time being.

Knowing that it was unsafe to stay in Celes incase he wakes up, Fai told Chii to watch over him and warn him when he wakes up, if he did and with that Fai sent himself to see the Dimensional Witch Yuuko in which he met up with the others, who he already knew he was going to be traveling with from the beginning. He had to give up his tattoo for the price to be able to travel with them and because of that had chosen not to use magic without it. Once they had set off after getting Mokona to help them all travel between worlds they had landed in their first world called Hanshin Republic Fai, who had brought the spare feather with him pretended that he found one on Syaorans clothes and gave it to the princess. From then on he helped in one case by using the Kudan he had to battle against a superstar, but won by simply being charming and causing her to get embaressed.

Throughout the worlds they went to, Fai was usually one to help out very little or to some extent since he didn't want to return home and also because secretly he knew about what he had to do. In the second world he, with the help of Kurogane battled a woman while dealing with acid water. In other worlds he would help a small bit or sometimes just act as emotional support in one worlds case. It was not until the country of Outo that Fai really had any history that was a big part of him. During their time in Outo, a place that they thought was a new world, but later turned out to be a game they entered, Fai had started up a cafe called the Cat's Eye and the reason for the cafe was so that they could gather information during there time there and hopefully to be able to find a feather. He also was the one to give them their new names while they were there.

It was while Kurogane and Fai were walking, on their way to Clover, a bar they had been told to go to for some information from someone who had seen the A1 Oni everyone was talking about, Fai had gone in Syaoran's place since Syaoran was to young to go to a bar. While on their way Oni had appeared and attacked them, Fai at the time did not have any weapons apart from some darts from a dartboard that was in his cafe, which he used to at least try to beat them, but no luck as he was soon hit into a wall, hurting his ankle in the process. After the fight was over and Fai was mentioning the fact that it won't kill him, Kurogane mentioned about something Fai does, the fact that he doesn't seem to be trying very hard to fight for his own life. This little talk did seem to have a tiny if any affect on the man before they found out they were in fact in front of the bar they were looking for in the first place.

It was when it was discovered just who was the person causing the problems in the first place, that he had appeared at Fai's cafe because he felt Fai could be a threat if he used his magic. Fai had fought him and was killed by the Oni. This had later turned out not to be true and that Fai just died in the game not real life, though no one else knew this till later when the game was slowly slipping into the reality.

They managed to deal with that situation, which mainly was Fai watching to the side with Kurogane and Sakura before they moved on to the next world, once again Fai not being a giant help and only really helped at tiny points in the worlds and in one case could not even talk to anyone because they were a certain distance from Mokona, they would start talking in what language they knew from their world. So Fai in that world for most of it had kept his mouth shut and made Kurogane do the talking since in that world he could actually speak the same language they were.

It was not until the world of Lecourt that Fai actually got more involved than he had originally planned with the group. It was when they were trying to escape, after they managed to gain yet another feather and it was looking like there was no escape for them since Mokona could not move worlds because of something stopping Mokona. Fai had stepped in and just by a simple whistle spell made a barrier to be able to help everyone escape. This would be pointed out by Kurogane later sometime after they landed in the world called Tokyo, a place that rains acid rain that hurt, so people lived in either the Tokyo tower or the other building, which is the one Fai and the others ended in.

After Fai had his second talk with Kurogane, he mentioned the fact that getting over his past is not that easy for him, it was not long before he had to help out, this time it was to try to keep what was the original Syaroan's eye within the clone, but this failed. Instead Fai ended up losing his left eye, which the clone had taken and ate it so he could use his magic to collect feathers for Sakura. He was close to death and knowing that if he died, the magic would disappear from the eye that he really did not mind if he did die. This though was ignored by Kurogane and he was turned him into a vampire and could only feed off Kurogane's blood only because it was not a wish that Fai wanted in the first place.

From then on Fai had changed personality wise, being more cold and distant. He started to only be loyal to Sakura. In a world called Infinity, a world where there was a game known as Chess, where there is one person who controls the pieces on the board as they fight and when they won that tormanent, which was what Fai had been helping Sakura to win. This was the place where Fai's first curse was activated and instead of killing Syaroan, who Fei Wong had originally set for him to kill, he killed Sakura instead when she had gained two more feathers, thus giving her more power than he with only half of his own power.

Sakura's soul and body separated to two different places and Fai who had freaked out about what he did and tried to kill himself, he was stopped by Kurogane and soon settled. It had been decided that they would go after Sakura's body first. The body had gone to Fai's home world of Celes, where Ashura had woken up from his slumber and was waiting for Fai to return there and actually kill him. But in order for them to go to a world that was not random like usual, they had to pay a price. Fai himself offered the sight in his right eye for it, this would mean he would go completely blind, but instead they gave the winnings from the tournament that they had won.

With the payment to go to Celes paid, they left going after Sakura's body. When they arrived and meet with Ashura and also what appeared to be Fai's twin brother who was blaming him for his death, his past was revealed to the others causing Kurogane to go for Ashura and him.

Fai defended himself and fought back and it was not long until after Ashura had been killed by Kurogane that the real truth was mentioned and the fact Fai was not the one who choose who would live, but it was his brother. Although Ashura was dead and Fai did not kill him, himself, the second curse was started. This curse was a curse that would destroy the whole of Celes, taking Fai with it, but thanks to Mokona's earring and Kurogane sacrificing his arm with magic equal to Fai since Fai had put a spell on the arm previously had managed to get Fai out of there. When that moment happened Mokona had taken them away to safety.

Next stop was Kurogane's home world of Nihon. While here Fai's personality had gone back slightly to the way it was before, that included calling Kurogane by the nicknames again and also because of what he did he hit him very hard on the head, showing that he had changed during that small time between Celes and getting there. Fai in order for Kurogane to have a artificual arm had given up the remainder of his magic to pay for it and said that he was not risking his life by giving it up because he has his vampire ability running through his veins. He also mentioned the fact he would not do something as stupid like that again, kind of his way of saying that he had learned his lesson overall. Soon after that thought there was soon two battles between Syaoran and his teacher, the person who had killed Fai in the game and then when his clone came along it went on between the two Syaorans. All Fai could do during this time was watch and not be of much help at the time.

When Sakura is killed and is found out to also be a clone to, Fai admits that he had already known that fact from the beginning as well and that he just had not told anyone as he was told not to. At night he went to see Syaoran on the roof and to tell him to rest, to which he was thanked by the boy for looking after Sakura. Fai, soon with the others wore the clothes they first traveled in and headed off to where Fei Wong was which was in Clow country. When they first arrived, time kept going on repeat over and over. It was during a repeat of the time that Fai had found out about Kurogane being in pain from his arm. This once against caused Fai to punch him hard for not telling him before then.

Once they had managed to escape the time loop, Syaoran had soon told them about his past and what happened, informing both Kurogane and Fai that if he had not changed time that time, Fai might not have been born a twin and Kurogane's mother would not have died. Even though it had hurt Fai slightly to hear this, he still agreed that he would help out since what done was done. While searching for Fei Wong they had come his minions and also the clone had made an appearance to. Fai himself dealt with the minions until the clone was defeated, but before he died completely, he gave Fai his eye back and thus his magical abilities had returned just in time for the final battle with Fei Wong.

During the final battle, Fai spent most of the fight using his magic to protect his comrades, helping them when needed but was not a huge part in the overall thing which included Kurogane being able to give the final blow to Fei Wong, killing him.

They had returned to Clow, where it was quiet and peaceful and perfectly normal. While here Fai spoke to Kurogane about Syaroan and the feathers he and Sakura had absorbed previous. Which were memories and possibly the souls of there clones. After that they soon met up at Syaoran and Sakura's clone's favorite spot and soon after they decide to continue traveling with Syaroan, in Fai's case he mentioned that he really has no home to go home to and that he is good at cooking and magic, so he would be of good help to have around.

The point I am picking him up from is when they are leaving and just after Syaoran and Sakura admit about what there real names are, thus making the title of the manga make sense.

First Person Sample:
[Feed shows a tall blond haired man, sitting in the middle of the floor, looking completely clueless to where he currently is. Glancing around a small whistling sound can be heard passing his lips as he stands up, wiping himself down.]

Mokona's landings can still use a little more work every now and again.

[Glancing around again he looks confused. Like something is a little off one way or another. He goes to open the door, having moved a good distance away from the blackberry currently in time.]

Kuro-tan! Syaoran-kun! Mokona! Where are you!

[Pausing for a moment to listen out to see if he gets any replies from the people he had mentioned before and when he did not instead getting different voices down the hallway, he just looked even more confused than before as he turned around, trying to figure out something.]

If I am nowhere near Mokona. Then how can I understand what is being said?

[This takes a few more seconds to think about before leaving the room to search.]

Third Person Sample:
Fai looked around the neat and tidy furnished room he had appeared in just moments before. He doesn't remember ever coming to this world before, nor does he remember ever getting separated from the others. "Mokona might need to start learning about landing again." He muttered under his breath as he started to stand up from on the floor, hands moving around his body as to wipe himself down, getting whatever dust or dirt off from the position that he landed in. Once he had done this he had started to take a closer look at the room. It was nicely furnished as he had noted before, it held things that he recognized including some books that were in his language. He had found that to be odd to say the least, but could not question it right now until he searched the place more and got an understanding of where he was.

Walking down the corridor, he noted the fact he was defiantly in some kind of house, a large house from the looks of the objects that were around. He stopped by a door of a room and poked his head in with a smile and with a very cheery voice said, "Knock Knock, sorry if I am intruding."

He blinked a couple of times when he saw that there in fact was no one around the room at all. Taking a couple of steps in he saw the number of shelves and books stacked into the shelves all over the place. "Ah, this must be a library in this place." He asked in a sage like manner as he nodded once to himself, making his way further into the sea of shelves and books. Fingers trailing over the spines of many books as he walked by the, glancing at some of the titles that caught his eye. He soon stopped, finger pressed against one title of a story, as he pulled the book out from the shelve as he held the book in one hand and started to flip the pages, glancing at the pages as he went along.

He looked away from the book for a moment, glancing over his shoulder before closing the book again and instead of putting it back, kept it with him for the time being. With a smile and cheery persona he went back to the door where he first came in as he started to make it down the hall, book in his arms for just incase it had any good information about this place as he made his way down the hall yelling pretty loudly, "Kuro-wan! Syaoran-kun! Mokona! Are you here!"

Notes:
I have an odd little habit of combining Japanese nicknames of 'Kuro-tan and Kuro-wan' with the English dub nicknames like 'Kurgy and Kurger Burger' so if they do switch I cannot help it...the names are just ridiculously funny.

Also as you can tell, I actually find Strengths and Weaknesses to be pretty hard, so I might not have put them all in without realizing it. This is properly because I do not actually fully understand its meaning.

Also History...sorry for the lack of detail, but I did point out the more important bits of his history.

Bonus:
Well Fai has always been my fave character from the series and has always had a close place to my heart since it was this manga that I went through the shit times with. So by playing him it's kind of my way of reminding myself of that really.
