what does it mean when a guy asks you to be in his movie?
working overnights has really fucked up my sleep schedule, health, and sanity. but it does make for interesting people watching (and questions), and it gives me the chance to ponder such hypotheticals as the following:
suppose that there was a planet on the other side of the universe much like the earth, and low and behold, all the animal and plant life on earth existed there as well. think of it as a nature preserve covering an entire planet. now, intelligent life may or may not grow from this planet, but what we know for sure, is that humans from this earth (or, whose ancestry is from this earth) will never see this planet, and we will never meet or communicate with the intelligent life that might arise from this planet. basically, the best way to think of this planet, is that all we know of it right now that has been described in this hypothetical is all we will ever know. we will never for the rest of our lives or the lives of any of our progeny know anything else about this planet. nor we will be affected by the choices they make in anyway.
so, if I told you an asteroid 1000 kilometers in diameter was headed straight for this planet, and the only way to divert it would be an investment made by this planet, how much of your own money would you pay to protect the life there? (you can only pay what you have access to, or reasonably could get access to through loans or other means, even theft.) the asteroid will destroy all life on the planet without doubt, forever.
but let me make the situation clear: billions and billions of animals will die if our earth does not contribute. even if you would give a very small amount, say so. $.50 is significant; if the cost of half of a 20 ounce coke is worth saving a planet to you, say so. one thing to consider, the amount required to save this planet is fairly small--say 10 million dollars from collectios across the earth. if everyone could answer this hypothetical sincerely, i would appreciate it.
also, i have lived in this state for over a year and have yet to try or even understand what a paczki is.
