SERIES: Metalocalypse
CHARACTER NAME: Skwisgaar Skwigelf
EDENSPHERE NAME: Alexi
PERSONALITY: Tall, blond, and Swedish, Skwisgaar Skwigelf epitomizes standard diva cliches. It's like all his brain cells are devoted to only guitar playing and composing music (maybe hair care as well). While Skwisgaar excels in musical talents of the Metal variety, the realities of the world and basic menial skills seem to be lost on him.

Skwisgaar takes the term dumbass to a whole new level. His mangling of the English language barely skims the surface. Beyond his inability to comprehend even simple subjects, he's oblivious to his own ignorance. Just as arrogant as he is stupid, Skwisgaar's really under the delusion that he understands everything. Even when proven wrong, he'll still argue that he's right, no matter how much the evidence contrasts with his P.O.V. He's also incredibly hypocritical at times; he'll disregard other's feelings for his own sake without a second thought, but then he'll throw a melodramatic tantrum when he feels he's been wronged in the slightest.

But mostly, Skwisgaar is a rock star. Talented and arrogant, as previously mentioned, Skwisgaar's sense of entitlement is probably the only thing that rivals his ego (though really, they go hand in hand). He's quite into his own physical appearance and assumes he can have any lady he wants. Klokateers wait on him and his other band mates hand and foot, so he expects hasty obedience to his demands and is quite shocked and affronted when they're declined. He's incredibly desensitized to death and used to speaking his mind with no concept of tact, so once again, it comes to him as a surprise when others are bothered by his behavior.

Underneath the self-proclaimed Viking God exterior, Skwisgaar isn't always as tough as he'd like others to think. For as much as he likes to assert himself as independent, he's not immune to attachment. He's got his mommy issues, and he's even cried when the stress became too much. These moments, however, don't usually happen in a conventional sense and are frequently more humorous at his expense as opposed to touching.
TIMELINE: Post Season 2 (+ previous stay in ES)
BACKGROUND: Born to Serveta Skwisgelf--Miss Sweden of 1956--Skwisgaar was an only child, who never knew his father. The finer details of his childhood remain unknown, though there have been little clues dropped along the way. Serveta seems to be a vain woman more interested in the company of men than her own son (which while he's displayed resentment toward her promiscuity, he ironically takes after her in that regard). It's been said that her neglect helped form the fastest guitar player alive, so chances are, Skwisgaar originally picked up a guitar as means of coping, something he continues to do on a chronic and compulsive basis. His mother probably didn't pay much mind to his education, which would explain for his general lack of intellect regarding anything other than music, though somewhere along the way he picked up English (not very well, granted).

Skwisgaar claims to have been in almost every band. While he probably was misusing the English language again, it's more than likely he did participate in quite a few. Judging from some of their names, at least the first few were European bands. At some point he met Nathan, Muderface, Pickles, and Toki, and the five of them together formed Dehtklok. Dethklok is more than just a band. It's an empire. It's the seventh largest economy in the world. The band can legally get away with almost anything. The United Nations has even allowed them to act as their own police force. Nevertheless, how and when they formed remains unknown.

In the band, Skwisgaar took not only the role of lead guitarist, but is also known for writing and compiling most of the music. Because of Dethklok's immense popularity, Skwisgaar is financially secure for life and resides in Mordhaus (which is noted to be in the United States according to MySpace, but a later episode shows a map that suggests it is somewhere in Europe. The location has never officially been disclosed.).

Despite being adored by their millions of fans, Skwisgaar, like the rest of the band, shows very little care or appreciation for them. Throughout his career, he has witnessed more deaths caused during live performances than most will ever see through a lifetime. However, with the band's popularity came power, and he has never had to face any legal repercussions because of it. In fact, lawsuits against him or the band have always been overruled, the most they had to do was apologize to a nation once (which subsequently led to them performing a song for them that unwittingly summoned a lake troll), and he and Toki had to take driving lessons on a separate, though they ultimately failed that.

Skwisgaar takes everything for granted and is also unappreciative of the life of luxury he is given, including but not limited to: an endorsement deal with his own custom guitars, staring in a box office movie, hosting the American Pornography Awards. At the same time enduring and whining about issues petty in comparison to the mayhem the band inadvertently caused: being reunited with his mother, lack of comedic talent, using a "grandspa's guitar".

All the while, he and his other band mates remain completely oblivious to an association consisting of various government officials hard pressed to exact the band's doom as they fear possible repercussions the band’s power could inflict and also an ancient prophecy that suggests the band has more power than they even realize. Even after a very direct attack on the performance of the Dethwater album (which they all miraculously survived... again) consisting of troops of advanced soldiers, Skwisgaar, as well as the rest of the band, blamed the attack on fans.

Acknowledging the amount of danger they faced, the band refused live performances for a long time. This created quite the impact on the world due to their popularity, including the President of the United States shooting himself in the jaw. The band was only persuaded to perform when the government asked them to play at a prison, giving the band the right to decide how those on death row would be executed.

The band of course jumped at the opportunity. Naturally, chaos ensued shortly after they began playing, this time because of Skwisgaar's doing: setting off his mace-belt (yes, mace-belt) and accidently hitting one of the Klokateers (the title of the roadies/workers for Dethklok), which threw off the giant apparatus they were performing on, consequently releasing the convicts, which caused a high amount of casualties.

As with most chaotic situations the band faces, they all left the scene unscathed.

For a time, the band went about their life as if nothing had happened (though they did up security) and started recording their new album onto water. Yes, water. Of course, their short attention span got the better of them, and they ended up destroying all of that.

Despite their manager’s consistent nagging, they put off recording an album for several months in pursuit of: starting a fashion line, getting a drug addicted clown clean, reaping more benefits from their Duncan Hills coffee endorsement, going to a wedding, visiting an Amazonian tribe, taking various government positions in Florida, getting a new manager, visiting Norway, going to L.A. to make sure metal didn’t sober (which, to Skwisgaar’s shock, led to his guitarist counter part breaking in an instant as he killed a man with his bare hands), among other things.

But the band eventually did record again (Skwisgaar had to do his solos whilst skydiving thanks to pesky buzz his guitar would produce... twice because Toki deleted the first one), and they even had a party at Mordhaus to celebrate their success.

Little did the band know a group called the Revengers had formed, consisting of members that had been wronged by Dethklok in one way or another (albeit never directly by band’s hands themselves) who wished to kill them.

Despite the heavy damage brought to Mordhaus, the band survived, once again, and in a different twist of fate, instead of their manager saving them as per usual, they saved him.

-IN ES:-

Skwisgaar awoke in Edensphere, remembering nothing except a dream. He didn't even remember his own name, going by Alexi from there on out. Although he had no idea why, the sense to be catered to lingered, and settling in came with difficulty as he had no drive to take care of basic necessities for himself (for example, getting a job). Luckily for him, a man named Kanin (who Alexi did recognize from his dream, even if he did claim otherwise for a long while), wishing to satisfy his own curiosity caused by recognizing Alexi from his dream, offered Alexi a place to stay.

More than once, people commented on the way Alexi treated Kanin, or rather, his lack of regard for the other. Nevertheless, Kanin tolerated it, and Alexi didn't give it a second thought. It wouldn't be until an incident in the Marketplace, resulting in Kanin snapping and killing a man, that Alexi would finally admit the truth of his dream.

During this time, Alexi met others that he was sure he didn't recognize. Many he dismissed, but some he didn't. It was also within this time that he first met Ghost, Spike, Brooklyn (who he'd later know as Bridge), and Blood, who would be his most notable friendships during his time in the Sphere.

But the Sphere was a peculiar place, and bizarre things happened that were sometimes beneficial, other times irritating, and then there were those times that were just... odd. Like unicorns that were attracted to virgins. In one case, Bastet was put in an outfit that made her throw cats at people, which resulted in Kanin bringing home a kitten--Ingvar. Along with these strange happenings was the ever changing Wilderness, and while Alexi had visited the place before, his time inside while it had turned to Las Vegas would definitely affect him the most. Not only did he and Kanin's relationship grow closer than ever, but that's where he first picked up a guitar (in the Hard Rock Cafe, specifically), and his talents came back to him like second nature.

Knowing that guitar had taken a significant role in his previous life, he was determined to learn more about that side of himself, recreate it if at all possible. He even became a tad more productive, taking a job at Smoke's Bar, though how he never got fired with the way he drank on the job and pocketed money (and wasn't particularly discreet about either) remains a mystery to all.

Several months after he initially woke up in the Sphere, Alexi found himself trapped in the elevator with Scales (a lizardman that Alexi referred to as a miniature dragon) and Phoenix. When the doors finally opened, he witnessed a full view, three dimensional projection of a memory of his--specifically, a performance of his band from his previous life.

By such time, he'd suspected as much, and that particular event only confirmed it for him. His determination to restart his band was stronger than ever, however, there was one major problem--the only other band member in the Sphere besides himself was Kanin.

Alexi set out to recruit others. He watched many perform during karaoke, but the truth was that no one matched the vocals of his previous band's lead singer. Aside from the memory he viewed, another unexplainable phenomena transformed Alexi's body into that of his lead singer temporarily. If he had any doubts about the frontman's brutality, that would've difused them quickly.

Nevertheless, he found talent that met his Metal expectations right under his nose--literally. Blood, the child who was a lethal as her hair was pink, took the role for lead vocals, and the trio would put on their first performance during the Charity Ball.

Sometime after, Alexi got another memory crystal. The voices he heard sounded familiar, but one thing stood out in particular. Although he was quite annoyed with the price he paid for it (forced into a dress of Princess Aurora), it was well worth learning his old band's name: Dethklok.

However, soon after that, Kanin disappeared before Alexi's eyes. Ghost and Blood allowed him to stay with them, but he disappeared soon after, leaving behind his guitars and Ingvar.
ABILITIES: There's a prophecy foretold of five band members bringing forth a great "Apocalypse of Metal." "The Curse of Dethklok" has been named, though the details are alluded to, if not just unknown.

Every time Dethklok enters the stage, the peak of their performance always seems to strike something disastrous. Sometimes it's merely a fluke, such as a small technical difficulty setting off a chain reaction of mass blood shed. Other times, it's a bit more out there, such as summoning a hurricane or a lake troll. Either way, two things are for certain: whenever Dethklok performs, the majority of the audience will die horrible deaths, while the band remains unscathed, and also, the members of Dethklok never deliberately set out to kill anybody.

Another curious happening seems to be that whenever someone tries to claim a piece of the band's power for themselves, they end up dead.

Now, whether any of the aforementioned is a part of the Curse or if it's all just a convenient coincidence is actually unknown. As far as being consciously aware of any super natural abilities, Skwisgaar's got nothing. He's got major talent with music and especially lead guitar, but while those are exceptional, yes, they're all self-taught and not caused by anything out of the ordinary.
