Blind

I broke my only pair of glasses on Sunday, and have been walking around more or less blind ever since. The new pair I ordered might be ready by Friday, but perhaps not until early next week. While I've found it somewhat relaxing living in a soft, fuzzy world much of the time (downtown, in coffee shops etc), driving after dark is so hazardous that I ( Read more... )

If my glasses and contacts were lost, I really would be blind. I can't see further than an inch and a half, tops.

Ah, you win! You're the blindest =)

I ordered a copy of Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers the other day! Nothing to do with blindness, just a tangent.

dude if your eyes are as bad as mine, don't be driving. are you getting a spare too? My old ones could be a spare, but I should see if I could get an inexpensive pair as a backup w updated prescription (my old ones I hate them now)

It's funny how we don't think much about our glasses until we lose them.

Driving after dark with no glasses...don't do it. :)

Oh and when I got my new glasses, I peer over them for doing close-up sewing or other things... could bifocals be too much further off? (:o) However my brother got 2 separate prescriptions for his eyesight, becuase he was "too young for bifocals" WTF? If that's the case, how come my stupid doctor didn't catch that? Not to mention the grumpy highly pregnant woman who just did whatever she felt like to my glasses (including putting on what seems like 6 types of no glare coating when I said "whatever is on the old glasses" which wasn't a lot of coating, and getting all flustered with fitting my glasses to my head, so that they are basically clinging precariously to my head)

I've decided I'll probably start wearing my glasses slightly less than all the time, like I do now. I'll wear them driving and at work, in front of the computer , and so on, but will wear contacts while playing volleyball, and probably take them off while reading, and sometimes just wandering around on foot (when I know where it is I am, and am going!)
