Title: Summer
Rating: G
Type: Poem
Genre: Poem..?
Timeframe: Saturday 12th July 2003.
Inspiration: A person I know named Joanne (aka Summer).
Notes: I said I'd write a poem for you, and I finally have!

From the red red sands
She rose, a phoenix, shining -
A shooting star ascending
Back to the heavens.

From a soul that crossed worlds
She sang the sweet song of summer
And charmed even the darkness
With her light.

From all the corners of the earth,
Places that have seen the sun
If only in a dream, a fading memory,
Sounds of life reverberate.

From the twisted hearts of mankind,
A grey wall of spears arose, ignorance thirsting
To destroy what it cannot understand
Or trap it in a cage.

From the deserts, forests, mountains, seas,
From everywhere they searched,
The mindless could not find her, for
Their golden prey was gone.

From a burning feather, fading note,
An egg that glows like coals - the summer phoenix
Can rise again, and will. Her spirit can’t be beaten down,
And she’s too good for them to kill.
