What a scenario...so very bleak and so very plausible...and it just hurt to read because the characterizations rang so very true. I especially loved how Ruby was given so many layers, and all of her thoughts/actions felt like they could have been under the surface of the canon Ruby show gave us.

The ending, though, could you have driven a spike through my heart any harder???

Thanks so much for your comment regarding characterization --this was very important to us and Nwspapertaxis had a very clear idea of Ruby's brain space here from the get go. For me writing Sam post season 3 is always exciting though inevitably painful, too, hence the ending!
