Seattle is a fucking catastrophe today. I had to go to North Seattle and back this morning, and discovered that I-5 is a disaster, 99 is closed (making I-5 said disaster), Greenwood has an event so is mostly closed, and huge chunks of downtown are shut down (including much of 1st Ave, the next best North-South route once you rule out 5 and 99). Am I the only one not upset that a child molester died today?

I did the first jump in my skydiving licensing course today. I've done tandem before, but this was my first time doing static line. The jump was awesome! The landing was a bit rough...As in, I laid on the ground for a minute trying to figure out if my tailbone was broken (it's definitely not). But it was awwwwesome! I saw a little boy today, crossing the street with his parents. He was wearing a dinosaur costume.

Do you ever kind of miss the days when you could have woken up, thought "I'm going to be a dinosaur today," put on a dinosaur costume, worn it outside all day, and that would have been perfectly okay?

That little kid is my hero for the day.

The shooting at the Holocaust Museum is just beyond disgusting. Part of me really hopes he dies in the hospital in terrible pain, while another part of me really hopes he lives to go to prison ( Read more... )

I realized that you can't really hate someone who is so valueless and unimportant that they're practically a piece of dust. Hate is really an emotion that can only be attached to persons of some sort of significance. You can't hate useless dust.
