Will someone tell me what the fuck happened? What kind of a state am I in for christ's sake?
Same sex marriages ABOLISHED
IF I WAS TO BE IN LOVE with someone of the same sex, and we ended up comitting to each other, why couldn't we get married and have it recognized that we are comitting to each other for life? Seriously? Because of YOUR religious ( Read more... )

People need to stop imposing their religious/political beliefs on other people who don't share them.

What happened? I'm no scholar, but near as I can tell: 1000's of years of humans trying to control other humans' behavior by pretending that some higher power said exactly what they wanted to become edict. So called other scholars narrowly interpreting the words of men (not the actual higher power him/her/it self). Top with this country being founded by repressed zealots and not enough generations of change to correct that yet. Or that's my theory anyway. :)

What if the "higher power" really are aliens that are like a kid with a magnifying glass? Would they think so much of "GOD" then???
I guess I am the only one who ponders negatively like that..but again, with "intelligent design" being a highly debatable topic, maybe in this context, the religious will "get it".....
why does there have to be a "black" or "white" instead of accepting there are infinate shades of grey?

Infinite shades of grey implies that any given faith, Christianity in particular, would not be universally The One True Way for all beings. Those who would control others find the concept of "what's right for you is not necessarily right for me" INTORLERABLE because 1) Weakens their ability to control everyone's behavior, and 2) Casts doubt on their own moral righteousness, causing them to possibly *gasp* introspect themselves.

Speaking of aliens, just wait for the day (and it will come, given enough time) when we discover sentient life on other planets. OMG THEY'RE NOT CHRISTIANS! :)

Lastly, on the subject ID, I never did understand why evolution couldn't BE the Creator's Design.

1)Introspection would be helpful - if everyone was working on themselves and pointing fingers at other I think it would be better place. ;-)
2)I wonder when they will be discovered? :-) Perhaps they won't allow themselves to be discovered yet...at least by us anyway. *bursts into song* "we'd make great pets..we'd make great pets..." tee hee

Lastly, on the subject ID, I never did understand why evolution couldn't BE the Creator's Design. EXACTLY! BTW Ever noticed the oceans have the constant percentage of salt even with continuous flows of rivers or erosion of soil? Or how there can always be a constant percentage of oxygen in our atmosphere? (enough to live, and yet not alot to burn us ALL to hell lmao...) I mean these are just examples of "design"....where the possibility of it being all "chance" is too great that it HAS to be design....
but I don't believe there is a "GOD" in a christianity sense....that's just my belief. ;-)
