Am I giving of a vibe that suggests I'm receptive to this sort of talk?

I think that, as a white person, you have to give off a really strong vibe in the other direction to not get that kind of talk from people likely to talk that way. And even then it's not a sure thing.

And I can't believe I missed Paranoid Parrot until now.

I'll be sure to post updates. I have a feeling a lot of tropes in Japanese video games/anime will start to make sense once I have it under my belt.
