ELEVENTH DAY: July 7, 2011

Jul 27, 2011 07:00

At seven o'clock sharp, the intercom snaps on with the usual loud beep. And also as usual, the warden's voice kicks in. Too loud and too cheerful, especially considering the event held the day prior ( Read more... )

OOC: Day 11 OOC announcement birdkeepers July 28 2011, 04:02:00 UTC
As LJ won't allow us to either post to blood_ooc or edit this post to include this announcement, this is the only option left. Here's hoping it works.

Today, ICly, it is July 7th. This day will (hopefully) stretch from the 27th to the 29th as per our 3:1 time ratio. The weather is chilly and slightly rainy. The IC post is here for new characters to introduce themselves, for characters to react to announcements, or morning shenanigans with roommates.

Today, ICly, is Tanabata. In the amusement park proper, there is a massive celebration going on, complete with a traditional Japanese-style festival. The prisoners, however, are not so lucky. The following events are, however, available for them to participate in:
  • Scooping up goldfish in the common room. Wait, did we say goldfish? We meant piranhas. Watch your fingers! Any prisoners who successfully catch a fish will be allowed to keep it as a pet, and provided with a fish bowl and a week's supply of food.
  • What's a Japanese holiday without traditional Japanese dress? All Japanese-style clothing ( ... )

This day hadn't provided Akabane with an event he had found himself looking forward to, but at least it was something different than the day-to-day routines.

Akabane had seen plenty of booths with goldfish scooping before, but he found himself almost surprised to see that the harmless fish for the game had instead been replaced by vicious piranha. Had he been a relatively sane, normal man, he would have just left, or else waited to see if some other person would try their hand at it. That wasn't the case here, though.

With a chuckle, Akabane pulled one of his white gloves off and pocketed it, then took a poi from the table next to the tank. Ever so carefully, he lowered the paper net into the water, watching as the fish became more frenzied from the ripples in the water.

Tanabata? They were seriously still allowing them to participate in festivals and shit like this? He knew this prison was weird, but this was just getting ridiculous.

He wasn't complaining exactly, he would show up anyone in any of the activities that they were allowed to do. Kiyomasa Senji never loses a battle! That's when he spotted a certain creepy looking guy near the goldfish, he figured that he hadn't bothered him in a while, might as well.

"Yo! Catch anything yet?" he came right up beside Akabane, and stared down at the little water-filled container. ...Wait a second, these aren't goldfish-

Akabane turned his head slightly, smiling pleasantly over at the other man. "Ah, good morning," he greeted him. "I have not, but I suspect that shall change before the end of the festivities."

He moved the scoop carefully through the water, waiting with a great amount of patience for a fish to swim into the right position. Finally he scooped one gently out of the tank. However, before he could remove his hand completely, another piranha rushed in and sank its sharp teeth into Akabane's hand. Akabane didn't let go of the net, though; in fact, he barely even reacted at all.

"Oh my," he tutted, smiling humorously, "I wonder if this means I have won them both."

Senji raised an eyebrow at the guy, he must have been some sort of freak, he wasn't even reacting when a damn fish came up and bit him on the hand.

"Uh pal?" he pointed at the fish, "that ain't natural you know that right? Doesn't it hurt?"

Senji knelt down and went to go grab the piranha, but then he was suddenly bitten by another fish that had jumped at him- damn these things! He let out a wail and shook his hand before the thing finally let go.

"Cheh! It was looking to take a ssslice outta my hand..."
