True Colors

The room is dark. Draperies pulled closed to shut out even the night sky and the street lights outside the dwelling. No light, save for the ember which glows at the tip of his lit cigarette. The leather of the highback chair caressing against his still form. Still, while the walls outside this doorway churn with a tide of emotions, there is a calm ( Read more... )

It seems that Taty and Julian are thinking the same thing.

Never the thankless child, though certainly spoiled mercilessly. *hugs*

And I quote from one of my dearest Charli's entries.

"Now she understood why some animals eat their young ..."

Love ya, Dani. LOL

That was a long read, but invaluable for me gaining insight into some of the characters that I haven't had much chance to interact with in play.

Glad to have asked after your IC journal so I could finally read these sorts of things.

Thanks for the comments, babe. Yah, its long .. they usually always are. LOL. So I'll give you the same disclaimer that most of the gang has already heard repeatedly ... if you see an entry from me or if you see my icon pop up on your friends page ... "The following entry is long. Go to the bathroom, grab a beverage, grab a cigarette (if applicable) and have a box of tissues handy (just in case) before sitting down to read it."

Btw, friend you back as well.

*shrugs* Yah, I know, Chris. Perspective is a wonderful thing for RP. Unfortunately it's not always as great for IC relationships. But as players, you and I and every member of this family group has always played things true to our character's integrity and balls-to-the-wall. Last chron, situations like this one would have likely been far more negotiable with PC who were far more open to it. This setting and these PCs are completely different animals however ( ... )

While I think we all understand the RP, it's just frustrating that in the entire spectrum of responses that can be taken, it's always on the harsh negative side. Beyond that I know I've written letters, I had hopes for SERE - getting smacked with that plot was extremely upsetting.

What's so disappointing is that I don't feel like this is leading to RP; in fact, quite the opposite, this is leading to all characters feeling completely alienated from each other to the point where there is no place to start. And now both JD and Julian have talked about slipping into torpor.

Even now the man who was once a gigolo receives yet another gift and realizes that it holds nothing more than bribery and placation to return to the good graces of a famiglia rather than to him as a father.Frankly, that's just upsetting. Again, to take the harshest perspective instead of it being seen as some gesture, some effort of Audra trying to fix this ( ... )
