another week with movies to spare
get him to the greek: - A record company intern is hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow to a concert at L.A.'s Greek Theater. - what an interesting movie I had lots of times where I just laughed out loud I think russel brand is perfect as a musician. I really enjoyed this comedy and I like the references in it - 5/5
the karate kid (2010 remake): - Work causes a single mother to move to China with her young son; in his new home, the boy embraces kung fu, taught to him by a master. - this is so easy to make into a racist mess..Meiyeng has stolen my heart she's so cute. I was suggested this movie surprisingly by a friend of mine who I tend to agree with on movies. I didn't even want to watch this beginning with the fact it was a remake of one of the great classics The karate kid. Jaden Smith is a great actor though usually his characters are annoying I also appreciate Jackie Chan in this role - 5/5
the expendables: - A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. - i've wanted to see this since it came out it had a lot of big names and even bigger cameos. Expect action at its best and biggest however this movie's plot is so sad it affects the movie as a whole i think you can have a big action flick with a good story. You know who i thought the best actors were Eric Roberts and Mickey Rouke who by the way have played these same parts before in other movies - 3/5
love ranch: - A drama centered around a married couple who opened the first legal brothel in Nevada. Based on real events. - i enjoyed every second of this movie even though a lot of the movie could be called predictable i really liked helen mirran and i related to her character. For a while I wanted to see this movie and I'm glad i did - 4/5
vampires suck: - A spoof of vampire-themed movies, where teenager Becca finds herself torn between two boys. As she and her friends wrestle with a number of different dramas, everything comes to a head at their prom. - being a big hater of a lot of things twilight eske i naturally watched this movie because i knew i would enjoy it; it may be just like all the other movies with the word movie in the title. Unfortunately this is the only franchise that falls on the mentality that people who are fans will watch and appreciate this film. The truth is that only the haters of a franchise will actually like this. Most of the jokes are overblown and pretty random and there is no plot here except to make fun of a franchise and some of the jokes are borderline disturbing - 2/5
a christmas carol: - An animated retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions. - i was suggested to watch this by someone first of all it's another disney film so it's like another remake/retelling of a book. This was the reason I was not going to watch it in the first place. Secondly this is animated using CG and actors I'm not fond of this method at all because it's creepy and weird. I'll be honest and say this movie wasn't for me I feel like all of the special effects were made just to show what 3D could do. - 3/5
