We were going over this short story in AP Lit and we got into a discussion about one of the main characters hands. How she used them for everything, and they were ugly and worn, but invaluable and strong. And from that, since this character represented the past, the past was ugly for that family, but irreplaceable and what made them strong. I guess

This is so stupid. If you don't want to be friends with Ashley, that's your own business. If she didn't matter to you, you wouldn't bother her still. They say that people love and hate for the same reason-- because the person matters to them. Avoidable drama is just silly. So if you don't give a shit about her, you should let her life her own life, and get over trying to influence it. There's no way you can know everything about her, so don't assume things about her or these friends. Then take her off your friends list. Then stop reading her posts. Then move on.
