The scientists mentioned that the buildings that recently came in were "an obstruction". That means they were able to... I don't know, put a wire trap on the proverbial sink.

They have access to the way of transport. They can even hold things there and look into the channel.

Maybe... I don't know, there's a window?

And perhaps this window functions differently than the usual entrances and exits, hm? Perhaps it can be controlled or looked through without having to enter yourself?

I doubt this place will ever be fixed. Chances are the scientists are less worried about fixing it, and more worried about stopping it, so they can get their asses out of here and not worry about getting dragged back. And I doubt the people out here are included in their escape plan.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think that sounds right. Stopping it would be a start... but as awful as it is, this place is a second chance for a lot of people, a life they want to keep.

I wouldn't want it to be destroyed entirely, but the people who want to go home should be able to.

Hmph. Idealistic, aren't you? Put together what the scientist's have already shown of themselves and what they tried in the first place.

Somehow I doubt, if they did find a way home, the people who wanted to leave would be able to. They sort of remind me of... well, me. Looking out for themselves.

Maybe if they'd get help from us instead of locking us out all the time, we'd get farther, but...

The more people this place brings, the larger it becomes, the more likely it's going to have staying power. That's generally the way of it.

As for damaging things in other worlds? I kind of wonder if there's evidence of it at all.

Well, think about it. People and places are being taken. Time is being compressed. Wouldn't that cause some sort of damage? I can't believe that it just creates copies of us...

Here I was trying to be a little bit positive, so much for that.

Yeah, they are, but see, I had no idea one of my buddies was here until I showed up. As far as I knew, he was running around as normal the day before. He's apparently been here a while too, months I believe. People probably don't even know we're gone.

I know... but doesn't it seem strange that that's how it works? Why isn't it damaging things?

Several of these structures are from my own world. Logically, as our absences are not disturbing our world, the buildings are not. But I can think of no way to know for sure.

But matter can't be created or destroyed, can it? If not our worlds, where is this matter coming from?

Are they literally creating copies of us, taken from our world?

Do they destroy the people that have gone?

When I arrived, I was told that we were removed from a single moment of our time, to return a moment after. It would not be long enough to miss. Extrapolation suggests that buildings would operate the same way - not created or destroyed, simply relocated. And our time here is only seconds.

Only if someone is made. I do not care to think that I might be a copy alone, and I cannot think of any evidence that supports this.

So... our time is interrupted, but our memories are wiped, and we return moments after.

But... how do you explain the fact that we age, here, and apparently haven't by the time we come back, if we're not copies?
