Summary: After the death of Ruki's beloved Sabu-Chan, Reita tries to cheer him up, when all else fails, maybe a drive around is all they need and through this drive Ruki finds a new companion.

---------------After the death Ruki's beloved Chihuahua Sabu-Chan, he has become quite depressed. Reita noticed all Ruki did was mope around the apartment. He tried everything to cheer up the younger man, He even took him shopping and even offered to use his credit card to pay for everything and yet all Ruki bought was a stuffed Chihuahua that resembled Sabu-Chan. He was cuddling with said stuffed Chihuahua.
"Ruki, c'mon, let's go do something."
Reita sat down on the bed next to Ruki and ran his fingers through red and black locks, Ruki shook his head, he didn't want to leave the bed not wanting let go of the stuffed Chihuahua. Reita kissed Ruki on the top of his head and mumbled into lavander scented hair.
"Ruki, please? We'll just drive around until we see something you like, 'kay?"
Reita moved out the way as Ruki slowly sat up and got out of bed reluctantly setting the stuffed Chihuahua down. Grabbing his bag, he looked forlornly at the empty purple doggy bag he use to carry Sabu-Chan in on car trips. Sighing he put on his sunglasses and held Reita's hand, Reita using his thumb to rub comforting circles on the top of Ruki's hand.
"It'll get better, I promise."
Ruki nodded not saying anything. Reita brought Ruki's hand up and kissed his knuckles.
"I love you, and I'll wait it out with you for however long it takes."
"Thanks, babe..."
Once they got to the car, Ruki got in on the passenger's seat while Reita got in the drivers seat. Reita knew that car drives always calmed Ruki down, looking at the scenery as it passed by. Music played in the car from some random radio station, some random English song, that was supposedly 'cool' right, because rapping about getting a girl horny can be considered music. Changing the channel Aerosmith began filling the car, much better. Then the loud squeal nearly made Reita crash into a tree.
"Oh, my gosh! ReiRei! Did you see that puppy back there?"
"I didn't hit it did I?"
"No! Go to that pet store, right there!"
Driving a little ways up he used a gas station parking lot to back track to where Ruki had requested to go. Arriving at the pet shop it was pink with puppies bouncing around in the front window for viewing. Once the car was stopped and shut off Ruki hopped out the car and looked at the front window, or more so a little puppy sitting alone in the corner not playing with the others. Reita got out and stood next to Ruki.
"He needs me, Reita, look at him. Oh I do hope he's for sale."
"Ruki...are you sure...are you sure you're ready for another dog?"
"...no but look at him, he needs someone for him, oh please? Pretty please, he looks so lonely...I don't want him to be lonely."
Sighing in defeat Reita pulled the door open for Ruki.
"Lets get you a new puppy."
Ruki smiled and walked inside going to the cleark who was an old lady with a kind smile.
"How may I help you, young man?"
"I wan't to know how much that doggy in the window? He looks so lonely and I want to be his friend."
The old lady smiled.
"Normally he'd be 66,850.00 yen, but since you wish to be his friend and not make him lonely we'll go for half of that. So only 44, 425 yen."
"Oh, no I am paying full price, money is not an object for me. Can I get him now?"
The old lady smiled and walked to the front on the room grabbing the puppy Ruki pointed to and placed him in Ruki's arms. A smile lit his face.
"Reita, look at his he's so cute...do you think Sabu-Chan would like him?"
"Yes, Sabu-Chan would love him, because you like him."
"Ah, is Sabu-Chan a pet who passed away?"
Ruki nodded looking a little sad.
"He got really sick and they couldn't do anything for him...so I had them put him down so he wouldn't suffer."
"Ah, well, I hope you and this little fellow can make eachother less lonely. And you, sir," she looked up and Reita who blinked. "You'll make sure neither of them is lonely right?"
"Y...yes, ma'am."
"That's good now follow me."
After ten minutes of Ruki and the old lady talking did they leave the pet store. Ruki was cuddling the little dog.
"I think I'll name him Koron."
"Why?"
"Because that Grandma's name is Koren and I think I want to honor her because she was so kind."
Reita nodded and leaned over to give Ruki a kiss...until he met a wet dog nose.
"Oh! Ew!"
"Haha! I think he likes you Reita!"
