So, my big resolution this year is to do a yoga practice every day in 2012. Most folks who follow me in LJ know that I have some anxiety issues - "some" meaning I have at least a little anxiety most of the time and occasionally it flares up to the point where I get violently ill, puke all night, and want to die. Which is awesome. At the end of

One of my close friends suffers from anxiety which impacts on their ability to socialise (especially eating / drinking in public) - it's amazing to see all the different ways people can make a change in their lives and make something difficult easier to manage.
Hope 2012 is a great year for you sweetie.
(I still have fic of yours to read - I was just saying to Space I haven't read any Bones fic since January this year - I have been so very busy!)

I'm glad that the yoga helped with the anxiety. Anxiety is a beast that can never quite be gotten rid of, just controlled. And it's hard for someone who doesn't have an anxiety problem to understand just how crippling it can be. My abnormal psychology teacher once described the difference between fear and anxiety to a boneheaded student in the class who asked "well aren't they both the same thing??" Fear is being in a room with a bear and feeling afraid, anxious, frightened and scared. Anxiety is being afraid, anxious, frightened and scared that at any moment, even though we are on the 3rd floor of a building, in an urban area, with no bears, that a bear will come in through that door at any minute.
Which is obviously over-simplifying things but at least the idiot got the picture. And who knows, maybe yoga will help you should a bear ever come through the door...lol.

I really noticed what a difference cutting sugar and caffeine made to my anxiety. And I do feel a lot better when I'm eating well.
I've resorted to Zoloft (50mg) and Xanax for now which has made a massive difference to me. And I'm lucky to live somewhere where meds are super affordable. Without using any concessions or my health insurance, I can get 50 Xanax tablets for $5 and a months supply of Zoloft only costs $10.
Anxiety really is awful and I really appreciate having you on my flist to read your experiences with it.
