So, true story, aka The way I got into fandom: I used to be huge into building personal websites, right? And about 10 years back, personal websites were all the rage, so! I used to traverse webrings and personal site listings just to look and see if there was anything they were doing that I wanted to emulate in my own (hilariously amateur) website. I came across this one, I think the url was white-trash-princess.net? Or something kind of similar? It's gone now and I can't remember but anyway, she had a lot of different things on her website and one page had like, her favorite fanfiction (and I was all what is this "fanfiction" that you speak of?) of the week, with an excerpt or whatever. It was Harry/Snape porn. The first time I read it, I WAS SO FREAKED OUT. Because what? What did you do to my poor little Harry Potter!!1 lol But I moved on, forgot about it, until a couple weeks later when I was curious as fuck. Spock/Uhura. Because I'll never get over the fact that instead of giving her something to do in order to be the awesome lady we all know she should be, they made her into a love interest. I'll never be able to see past that now and it colors any pleasure I may have gotten from them being actualfax fucking cute together. :/

This is a hard one because I got into fandom in my formative years and fandom showed me that once you put your slash goggles on, it's hella hard to take them off... but.

I would have to say I definitely don't ship anything in Young Justice fandom. That cartoon is just lizard brain comic-y cartoon-y goodness. I just enjoy that to the fullest and abso do not care who is fucking who. Nor do I want to imagine them in a relationship with anyone else. (Doesn't hurt that they're mostly kids/teenagers.) I mean. I got actualfax upset that Superboy wasn't an aromantic asexual because reasons. Any canon romance is waved aside with an "I don't even care, let's get back to Superman being a deadbeat dad" etc etc.

<3 Right? Haha, I was about to flip some tables but then I heard she'd been cast and everything was swell. I adore the fuck out of that girl.

I've read a couple things but only one that I really enjoyed the hell out of. It's a series and it's long-ish but so so so worth it. It's called the Directions series. It's pretty great.
