Maybe I'm really missing something here, but aren't you glad you saw your mother? Was it a memory crystal?

Yeah, it was.

I'm glad NOW that I've had hours to feel like a total heel.

It happens, Mr. Castle. I mean, the bit where you first write something and then wish you hadn't. I've done it. Just don't feel too bad, please.

You must be a singularly vile man.

[Writing is shaky, but still recognizable as the same person- he's thoroughly drunk now.]

Hey, sometimes good people say vile things.

You have seen your mother, when all here have lost their families, and this uncouth sentiment is the first thing you see fit to declare?

[Reply comes several hours later, when he's thoroughly drunk, so his writing is a bit shaky.]

Perhaps waiting to get over the shock before reaching for my journal would have been a wiser move. ... That was inappropriate.

Perhaps indeed.

[A pause.] Pray tell, however, how did you accomplish this? I have not heard of any way that one could recover the things that have been lost.

It happens at random, but sometimes you find crystals that let you experience a memory when you touch them. I found one inside a chocolate egg that appeared on my kitchen counter this morning.

Oh dear. bloody_pens May 5 2011, 00:32:18 UTC
Yup.

Still, I've gone about expressing it in the worst possible way.
