Quiet day today. No mid patients (sorry, clients) but we had a couple of babies come in to be weighed and whatnot. Went to a party last weekend at a friend's place. She's from England and knows a lot of international students. Anyway, a few of us get talking to this American girl and eventually I ask her what school she goes to, and she says...Pitzer! And it's true. Adelaide is in the middle of it's longest ever heat wave. Actually the longest ever heat wave in any Australian capital city. We're on day 11 of temperatures around 38 - 42C (100 - 107F) and it doesn't look like ending until next Thursday. Next Thursday when the cool change bringing temperatures of a chilly 31C (88F) arrives!

Turns out I was a dual status alien last year which means that I cannot claim the standard deduction on my taxes. I've never itemised deductions before, so I have absolutely no idea what I can claim. Anybody have any ideas?

The hard part is that naturally I didn't reserve a lot of space in my suitcase for receipts!

I'm going to see Michael Buble!

NOBODY is allowed to go into labour on June 17!

I found out last week that the Michael Buble concert went on sale back in DECEMBER and SOLD OUT in like ten minutes, BUT I was looking up times for Juno tomorrow in the newspaper and glanced back a page and saw an ad for a SECOND CONCERT!!! One high distinction (Human Body - Kylie loves anatomy :)), two distinctions and an incomplete (one assignment to go - I'm expecting a distinction). Yippee!

So the little old lady from yesterday (Joyce) was moved today to a nursing home. We weren't allowed to tell her she was going because she would get upset, so I think they told her she was just going out for the day. Even though I know it's best for her, it made me really sad.
