Have you heard of kombucha? If so, what do you know about it? I'm really curious.

Yeah, I saw it on craigslist. Someone said they were giving away kombucha babies and I thought "What the crap is a kombucha baby??" So...now I'm trying to find out.

So they were offering you a strain of kombucha, sort of like giving someone a sourdough starter. *shrug* ladder7 really likes drinking kombucha... but I don't have much experience with it.

kombucha is a kind of mushroom that's dried and made into a tea. Supposedly it has immune-boosting, energizing, super-healthifying properties. Kombucha babies are probably kombucha mushroom starts so you can grow your own.

My only experience with kombucha is the drink that is made locally. They have a lot of different varieties, and the drink is usually a bit tart. I talked with a distributor of it the other day and she said they basically make a fruit/tea drink and add kombucha. But I really don't know what it is, all I know is that it seems to be quite expensive. Small, 8oz bottles are about 2 dollars a pop.

Hey, whatever floats your boat... if it makes people healthier, 2$ is more than worth it.

I haven't seen it made commercially. Where do you get it?
