Since you are pre-med, I assume that you know you can't, and know the types of things you can get from shoes.

I'm not pre-med anymore. Pre-dental.

Plus-viruses are strong little buggers and I ripped the skin OFF my heels. And if the person who first owned the shoes did too it's possible she rubbed her AIDS infected juices all over them.

The HIV virus cannot survive outside of a host for more than a few hours...I think you're safe.

I can cope with most any kind of cootie you can get from shoes, but AIDS would suck. :)

How long do you think they were away from their previous owner? (hopefully more than a week.)

I'd say at least a week. I bought them on Saturday.....so probably. And anyway-I wiped most of the inside with a lysol wipe.

most blood bourne bugs can not live outside the body for very long, so you can rule out AIDS and Hep C!!
