APPEARANCE: Here
PERSONALITY:
Marluxia practically oozes charisma. He is shown being able to manipulate others rather well-whether the unfortunate victim is with or without a heart. He shows this quite well when it comes to Vexen and Sora. The former he manages to talk into walking to his own slaughter, the latter he lures to Castle Oblivion and then draws him deeper with words.

He is slow to anger, and only does so when his plans fall apart completely-such as when he is nearing defeat in the final two battles. Otherwise, he is calm as if he is still in control of any situation. His calmness is what allows him to freely manipulate others without losing control of them. After all, losing one’s temper leads to mistakes, and mistakes are not to be tolerated in the Organization.

He comes across as very arrogant or even vain. He appears with flower petals falling down, and seems to believe he doesn’t deserve the lowly rank of Number 11. He seeks to be in charge. He seems almost obsessed with his superiority, in fact, and often reminds others of this. He is proud of his title of Lord of Castle Oblivion, and doesn’t seem to want to relinquish it.

He speaks in a nearly monotone voice, showing that he doesn’t often pretend to have emotion. While he does smirk or laugh at times, he’s level and rarely has an expression save for the occasional smugness he tends to hold. He doesn’t flinch when Larxene dies and Axel betrays him, instead viewing them both as minor setbacks.

However, he isn’t without his more positive traits. For instance, he perseveres despite all the setbacks in his plan. He also shows to be completely devoted to his task, not once giving up on taking over the Organization.

Marluxia has a very low view of others. They are tools to be used, and once they cease to be useful, they are disposed of. This is evident in how he cares little for even his partner in crime, Larxene, who he has been revealed to have previously known before the Organization thanks to the novels. It’s also revealed through his interactions with Roxas in Days, where he and Larxene idly comments that it’s a shame he couldn’t be more useful as he is.
COMPUTER APTITUDE: He’s fairly good with computers. Not a genius, but he can get by rather easily on them. So he’s probably about average?

AU HISTORY: Marluxia Hawthorne was born to Anton and Urania Hawthorne, a well-off family. His father was a lawyer, his mother a doctor, and that meant he spent most of his time with his nannies. Because of this, he grew up entirely distant from his parents. Eventually, he himself attended Reims Academy, where he achieved high marks in all his classes.

It was after he graduated that he had to make a choice. He could follow in the footsteps of either parent, or choose his own career path. And, due to how bitter he was toward his parents, he instead took to a university where he studied botany-his passion-and teaching so that he could return to Reims, the only place he felt remotely at home.

JUSTIFICATION: On an OOC level, Marluxia is both intelligent and good with people. But that’s just to start with. When it comes to teaching botany, he is possibly one of the better ones. You see, even in canon, he has an affinity with plants, and there is stuff to his character based off of plant symbolism-usually revolving around death.

ICly, Marluxia is from a prominent family and thus had the best of the best when it came to schooling. He’s gotten very good grades throughout his entire school career, and thus he’s got quite the background in it. Teaching-wise, his charisma will allow him to impart his knowledge on the students, while his stricter no-bullshit nature will allow him to discipline them when needed.

INTRANET/1ST PERSON SAMPLE
[The video feed flickers into life, displaying Marluxia as he sits there at his desk. There’s that faint, almost smug smile across his lips like usual.]

Good morning, students. As I’m sure you’ve heard, I will be taking a leave of absence starting later this day. My mother has become quite ill, and it would be much too rude of me to not visit her. I take it all of you will be capable of handling your homework. Because you will not have me to help you for a small amount of time, I have decided to go a bit easier on grading. But do not become used to such things.

Have a good day.

[And then it flickers out.]

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE
Letters are always such tedious things to deal with. One must read them, to start with. But to read them, one must open them, and the opening is boring. Nonetheless, it must be done, especially when it has your official family seal stamped onto it. And as much as he despises his parents, it’s a matter of importance versus his own distaste. So the letter is always opened, and the contents are pored over carefully.

…Ah. Another bid for him to come home and follow in the footsteps of one of his parents. Well, he never liked being told what to do. Here he abides by the rules because they allow him to remain within the halls of where he calls home. Simple enough. But under the thumb of his parents, there is likely to be a great number of rituals and movements he must go through to even get them to stop complaining about the most mundane of problems.

The letter is discarded, shredded and left in thin strips in the trash where he forgets about it and moves on to grading papers. It’s a much simpler task, but there’s a sense of pride he feels when seeing the correct answers provided by the students. It’s truly a simple thing to learn, botany. Not that the dolts he often teaches would be any proof.

HAVE YOU READ THE FAQ?
Yes. There was something about rabid wombats involved.
