Junsu stretched his hands, grabbed his books and notes and rushed out of his dorm room and to the classroom. It never happened that he was late to a lecture, and it wouldn't be happening now. He still had twenty minutes till the start of the lecture, which was more than enough to settle down and prepare to take notes and all. Maybe, if he was lucky then he'll be able to persuade old professor Lee to give him a hint about his mark in the last assignment he handed in last week.

'Oh, Mr. Kim' the old man smiled as junsu walked into the classroom

'Professor Lee' junsu smiled happily at the man. He loved and was loved by all his professors, but he liked Professor Lee the best. The old man had something mystic about him; he looked at junsu as if x-raying him and reading into his soul with one look. It was an intimidating feeling, but the old man was so wise, keen and most important of all he was filled with passion and love toward his subject which made every three hours long lecture a new, cheerful adventure in the European middle-age literature.

'Mr. Kim, I was wondering if I could have a word with you in my office after the lecture' the old man smiled at junsu and again gave him a piercing look that made junsu's bones shiver. But that wasn't the only thing that happened, junsu's face went pale, very pale, he was worried. Why would the old man want to talk to him? Did something bad happen? Did he fail the last test or something?

The old man must have seen the worry in his favorite student's eyes because he chuckled and patted his shoulder:' don't worry my deer boy, it's nothing bad. I have a favor I need to ask of you'

Junsu swallowed and nodded his head. He walked to his seat in the first row and sat down. Today's lecture was about Hamlet, he already knew the play by heart. It wasn't one of his favorite but he had to admit that it was integrating and brilliant nonetheless.

_______________

The lecture ended finally and junsu made his way to the professor's office. Entering the square office which was filled from floor to ceiling with old books junsu looked around. He was impressed by the huge number of books, but he was also taken aback.

In the office there were three armchairs, one which taken by the professor himself, one was empty and one was taken by Park yoochun, the college's prince, the prince charming whom everyone wanted to date and befriend. Well, almost everyone that is. To junsu, this spoiled rich brat was more like the bane of his entire existence. He had met the man a few times, and each time was worse than the first. He couldn't say he hated him, to hate someone you must get to know them. Besides, hating someone takes energy, it means you care enough to have a feeling about the man, but junsu didn't care. He couldn't care less if Park Yoochun was to disappear right in front of him or drop dead… well, he would probably get a shock if he did drop dead in front of him, but just because he's a human being, not anything else.

'What's he doing here?' Park Yoochun snickered while pointing his way

'Oh, please take a seat, Mr. Kim. Would you care to join us for some tea?'

Junsu shook his head. The old man was Korean. That was true. But he had been raised in England all his life. He was adopted to their costumes and liked to drink a different kind of tea every time, depending on the hour of the day and on his mood. Right now, however, it seemed to be green tea with a hint of lime, the odor was nice and it was filling the office, as always.

Junsu sat down facing Park Yoochun with the professor between them. Never in his life was he so close to the other man. Looking at him up close junsu frowned; the man was handsome, that he had to admit. But the look of utter loathing in his eyes said volumes about him and junsu found himself wishing to be anywhere else but here.

His visits to this office before were all pleasant; he came the first time to ask the professor about something from the lecture which he didn't understand. The second time he wanted to ask him about a novel, wondering if he could perhaps own a copy of the novel and if he was prepared to loan it to him to read. The third time he was simply invited for tea and cucumber sandwiches; they spent the afternoon discussing their favorite books and chatting. The last time he was here was because he had found an interesting old book in one old bookstore and was sure his professor would like it, which was quite true. The professor read the book and loved it at once; it wasn't a famous book or a bestselling one, but it was amazing nonetheless. In short, junsu liked every visit he made to this cozy office in the past.

This time, however, junsu didn't like his visit. He couldn't shake the feeling inside of him that something bad was about to happen to him, some mess. A feeling inside of him, an instinct perhaps, told him that he should run away from the office before the professor asked him for this favor. But again, he couldn't do it. He couldn't let his professor down without even listening to his request, it wasn't polite and it wasn't him.

'So, my dear boy, I believe you two know each other' the old man began

'Yes'

'No'

'You don't know me? You must be kidding me, where are you living, on the moon?' yoochun's eyes were narrowed in accusation as he stared at junsu from head to toe. He had heard about this boy, the teacher's pet. Everyone knew he was poor and no one knew anything about his background. The first year he came to the college he was always bullied around, he had no friends but around exams time when everyone in the classroom began asking him for notes and privet tutoring and stuff. He never refused anyone, and he helped everyone for free. But, somehow after the exams were over he was friendless once again. He was living in another world as far as yoochun knew. He was poor, no background, no friends, no girlfriend, no parties and nothing. He was a real, classical loser. And to say this loser didn’t know who he was. This was beyond the line!

'Knowing your name doesn't mean I know you. I have no idea what you are' junsu answered, he was rather calm and composed, even if he felt like hitting the man in front of him

'As usual, wise words my boy, wise words' professor Lee nodded his head approvingly which only made yoochun angrier than before. This jerk was going to pay for it!

'Now then, Young Mr. Park here is the son of an old friend of mine. He's new to our course and I want you to help him around. I know you already handed in your final assignment for this term, but he didn't start on it yet and he's only got two weeks to finish it all. I want you to help him. Tutor him and explain how things go for him, my boy, you're the most brilliant student in my class and you had been for some time now. I trust no other with such a task but you'

'But…' junsu began, ready to protest and refuse this offer at once.

'You can't be series!' Park Yoochun had jumped up, refusing to believe this, he won't be taking privet lessons from this jerk, never!

'Sit down, Mr. Park' the old man spoke lightly. He never raised his voice, he never yelled or shouted, he always spoke gently and his voice was a little above a whisper, but somehow everyone always heard it, even those sitting in the back of the class. His voice maybe was gentle but it was powerful nonetheless, the man radiated power and superiority, his voice and his eyes would penetrate anyone. Park Yoochun was no exception. 'Or did you forget that if you failed my class your father will disown you. He's fed up with your behavior already and you stretched it too much last time.' The man's tone was still light and gentle but somehow it was more threatening than any threat or yell

Yoochun sat down and the man went on ' and without Mr. Kim here helping you, you won't have any chance of succeeding in my course. If that happens, you'll be shipped to military school, as your father threatened'

'H wouldn't, I'm his only heir' yoochun hissed, his eyes wide with fear

'He said that he would rather donate his money and companies to the public than leave them for you to destroy them. He's desperate now, and a desperate man knows no boundaries'

Yoochun swore out loud

'And no swearing in my office, please, my boy'

Yoochun eyed the old man as if he liked nothing more than to stand up and chuck him and kill him. But he didn't say anything, he just eyed junsu as he frowned and looked at him. This wasn't going to happen. He had to do something about it, and he knew exactly what.

_______________

It was as they walked out of the professor's office around fifteen minutes after when it happened.

Park Yoochun walked to Kim Junsu and hissed at him, shoving him into the wall and touring above him

'I'll pay you ten thousand USD and you'll do this assignment whatever for me, heard me nerd?'

Junsu closed his eyes for a second; he took a deep breath and hissed back at the spoiled brat, his voice dripping with venom:' I'll do no such thing. If you want to pass the course you'll work on the project yourself, I can help you if you ask, nicely, but I'm not like the rest of them. I'm not something for sale, your money mean nothing to me!'

'You don't want money, huh? Then what is it you want? You name it I will give it to you and you'll work on this, whatever, for me' yoochun tried again, he wasn't one to take no for an answer. Heck, no one ever told him no, ever, so who was this idiot nerd to say no to him?

'Nothing I want you can give me, you spoiled brat. So save your money and work hard on your own' junsu hissed, a smirk on his lips ' and as Professor Lee said, if you fail, you will be going to military school'

Yoochun's face went pale. This jerk was trying to get himself killed. But fine, if he wanted to play it like this then two can play this game; he will show the jerk that he is in control of everything here, and that he's one to be feared. He'll get this shit with his dad over with first, and then he'll be free to deal with this nerd.

'Fine, have it your way, then. I'll ask nicely: will you, Pl…ple…please… help me on this assignment?' yoochun had to bite the inside of his cheek not to yell at the jerk. He had to fist his palms not to hit him, but he knew he had to swallow it and just do it. At least for a while he'll go on with this play and then… he'll settle the score.

'Right' junsu's tone was curtly, he seemed unnerved by this entire situation ' meet me tomorrow at the two p.m. in the library and we'll start'

Without waiting for an answer the boy left and yoochun swore again. This was going to cost him highly; he'll make sure of it.

_______________

Two days later, you could walk into the library and find one of the most shocking sights there was. To one table, surrounded by dozens of books were Park Yoochun, the college's prince, and Kim Junsu, the college's no one. The sight was so strange that several students just stood there, too shocked to react, until yoochun blew up in their faces, that is.

'This is hopeless!' Yoochun sighed and slammed the book in his hands shut. He was sick and tired of all this shit. He needed a novel to read and analyze, but every novel was boring and too long. All the good novels were already taken and it was unacceptable that two students should analyze the same novel; Professor Lee had made that clear since the first day.

'You joined the course in its middle. You don’t' want anything long or even hard to analyze. You can't expect something easy. All the good novels are taken, I triple checked the list, I tell you' junsu repeated himself for the tenth time that day

'I need a novel by Friday' yoochun hissed.

Friday was the deadline professor Lee had given the class to hand in the details about the novel they choose, Friday was in three days. Yoochun was getting hopeless, and to make it all worse his father had canceled his credit cards and took away his car until he passes the course. This was getting too damn frustrating.

'Look, we need some inspiration to help us' junsu tried to say

'Right.' yoochun frowned ' I have a feeling that it's not the kind of inspiration I always seek'

'If you mean going to a striptease club or having sex, then no, it's not this kind of inspiration' junsu spat back. They had spent two days together studying. Two days without them biting each other's heads off or anything, but his patience was fading, quickly, with all the nagging and the whining. Heck, this man kept whining all the time, he sounded so childish and nothing like the jerky man he's supposed to be. Junsu didn't like this, this was strange.

'Then what inspiration do you mean, Sherlock?'

'When I'm stuck or in need for a good book I go to old bookstores, they're the best, you know' junsu smiled, remembering ' I went to one outside Seoul once, it had the best books ever. It's closed down now, though' he frowned ' but there are a lot of old bookstores everywhere, try going to check one of them'

'Right' yoochun frowned, thinking. There was something huge going on tonight, something that he usually wouldn't have missed for the world. But, this time it seemed like his luck had ran out.

Tonight, in Tokyo, there was a party. One of the biggest parties of the year, yoochun had an invitation of course, it was a pop star's birthday and he was throwing the party of the year. He wanted to go and party all night long with the alcohol, the hot girls and the rich people and forget all about this idiotic assignment, but his father refused. He had to study damn it. He just hated this!

And then he had his own inspiration. Just when every hope of him attending this party seemed to be lost he heard it

'There are a lot of second hand bookstores aboard as well. I would love to travel and check them out sometimes' the boy had just said

'Let’s do it then. We will take the privet jet and we'll go to…mmm…let's say Hawaii, it's filled with old bookstores and stuff. It will only be a nine hours flight. It's still morning here. We'll be there before night and we'll be back tomorrow' he played his part well ' you can check all the bookstores you want' he shrugged

'And what would it be in it for you?' junsu frowned

'I need a damn good book for my assignment' yoochun reminded him. He already knew he won. The boy was smart but was also so innocent that he fell right into his trap. This way his father will not be able to tell him no, he's going on a mission for college. This nerd can search whatever old bookstore he wants and he can party as much as he wants. It's a win-win situation

'Okay…' junsu hesitated but finally agreed. This chance was too great to let it slip. Even if it was with the spoiled brat, it was his dream, or a part of it, anyway.

'Great. Grab your passport and let's go' yoochun stood up at once already taking out his mobile to call his father

Junsu ignored the feeling inside of him once again, the same one which advised him to run away from the Professor's office two days ago. He was never outside Seoul, let alone outside Korea, he was excited to go on the trip.

_______________

The flight was really smooth and comfortable. The nine hours were spent with yoochun sleeping and watching movies and junsu reading a book or sleeping as well.

It was them, two air hostesses whom were flirting with yoochun the entire flight, the captain and an assistant and last but not least a bodyguard. The big, scary looking man was wearing an all black formal tuxedo and was armed with a gun. He was given straight orders to never leave yoochun alone, never lose sight of him, and never allow him into any parties of clubs.

Park yoochun was to go check on old bookstores, that's the only thing he was to do besides eating. If the body guard sensed something wrong or thought that the rules are not being obeyed then he's to get yoochun and his friend onto the plane and get them home again, even if by force.

With that bitter piece of truth yoochun's hopes came down shattering all around him. This man wouldn't allow him to breath out of line; he had even taken his ticket for the party so to make sure that he won't be attending it. Now, yoochun hated this trip. Coming to Hawaii to check old bookstores, with no partying or having fun wasn't his idea of a getaway from college, but there was nothing he could do, not with that human wall shadowing him.

Junsu, on the other hand, was taken by all this. This trip was something outside the frame of his world, it was unbelievable. There was always someone asking him if he wants a snack, a drink, or anything. The plane wasn’t huge but it was big, it was so comfortable too with the white leather seats and all the luxury on it. It was way out of his world.

Even when they arrived, they didn't need to go to the passport control checkpoint, the man came to them on the plane and scanned their passports with some sort of a laptop he had with him before stamping them and welcoming them to Hawaii with a big smile on his face. To yoochun, this was just normal life. To junsu, however, this wasn't real; this couldn't be a real life!

_______________

It was seven in the evening in Hawaii. It was raining cats and dogs and it was a little chilly. They had landed an hour ago; they ate lunch in a nearby restaurant and were now entering an old, second hand bookstore under a bridge. The place looked as if built since the Victorian era and was too old; it was stacked with books in all shapes and colors. From floor to ceiling the place was filled with books

Yoochun stood there shocked, not knowing where to start. The sight of all those books made him sick, he hated books actually. Yoochun was more of the type of men who would rent the movie instead of reading the book. But junsu, well to junsu this was more like paradise. It was heaven.

Not wasting any second, junsu began browsing the shelves, going through the books and selecting a couple of them. Finally he smiled, holding and old, dusty book that looked as if had been written centuries ago, he sat down on the armchair and opened it. Yoochun walked over to him and hissed at once:' fairytales book? You must be kissing me!'

Before junsu could respond or defend the book something strange happened. A blinding golden light appeared out of the opened book and everything vanished into black. The entire world was gone and black took over, and then it began...
