Yoochun sighed; it had been almost a week now since the portraits had been hung up all over the Kingdom, and yet there was no news of his little lover, this was getting on his nerves.
It was a fine morning, but yoochun was grumpy, as he was always lately, as he made his way out of his rooms and to the royal stables, he didn't even want breakfast today, he just wanted to search and find his little swan-boy already, where had he been hiding?
'Yoochun, join me in the dining hall'
Yoochun turned to look at his father, he was too grumpy to bow or greet him today, he wanted to go already, it was as if he had this strange feeling that today he will find out something about junsu, he didn't want to waste any time
'I'm on my way out, I don't desire a meal now, father'
'Yoochun, join me in the dining hall' the king repeated and walked away. Yoochun sighed, cursing under his breath, but followed the older man, anyway.
When they reached the dining hall and got seated, the king turned to his son and spoke:' I found something very interesting last night, son'
'Is that so?' yoochun asked dryly
'Yes' the king frowned ' I found out that a man who looks very much like the one you're searching for is in fact none else but the young bride to be of the nearby Kingdom's king. The wedding was supposed to be held three days ago but the bride had somehow vanished through the night, everyone is searching for him'
Yoochun swallowed dry, so junsu is in trouble, damn it, that boy attracted troubles like a magnet.
'This young bride… it also happens that he's the prince of said kingdom's, the king's own son. The old man had went insane for sure for he's marrying his own son, according to the old rules of their kingdom, the prince met the conditions to be the king's consort'
Incest, yoochun shuddered, this man was insane, rules and conditions aside, the man wanted to marry his own son, to have sex with his own son! With junsu! With his junsu! He was going to kill him, to castrate him and make him regret the second he thought about HIS junsu like that!
The king was watching his son, watching as flames flared in his eyes, as his face constructed in pure rage, as he fisted his hands so tightly they were shivering and trembling, his entire body stiffed, he was screaming danger
'Yoochun,' he spoke softly, bringing his son out of his murderous daze ' how did you make acquaintance with a prince whose foot never touched our grounds while yours never touched their grounds?'
Yoochun didn't answer, still looking ahead, his mind filled with murder ideas and rescuing plans
Sighing, knowing it was hopeless; the king went back to his breakfast and left his son to his pondering
'Just please, don't start a lethal war over something unworthy, I shall support you if you give me a good reason to why you want to murder their king'
Yoochun only nodded his head and got off the chair, walking out of the hall without even noticing it, he was too busy plotting all murder, rescue and marriage at once.
Walking to the entrance gate, a weird sight caught yoochun's attention. He walked closer and looked, it was someone covered in a donkey skin, whispering and begging the guards for something
'What's going on here?' Yoochun asked, hissing out
'Probably some homeless beggar, your highness' a voice came from behind him, yoochun turned to see a soldier bowing to him
'Whatever, go tell the guards to give him what he wants and get it over with'
'Yes, my prince' the soldier bowed again and rushed away, yoochun turned his eyes from the ugly sight of the donkey skin and walked away.
_______________
Junsu looked around him at the tiny chamber; he was given an old servant bedchamber underneath the ground with one high window that leveled with the ground above, it had a view to the garden actually, not that junsu was high enough to reach it anyway.
Setting the three bundles under his bed and insuring their safety, junsu looked around, the bed was so tempting, as hard and stiff as it was, it was better than the ground, for sure. But, he had work to do, his job, he had to clean the stables and take care of the pigsty at the other side of the castle, the lowest job a servant can do, but it was better than marrying his father, so he didn't complain.
A job was a job, that's a motto junsu followed in his life, but as he stepped into the old pigsty he swallowed, maybe, just maybe this time, he would complain inwardly about his job. The smell alone was enough to kill him, it was clear than no one had ever cleaned the place or took care of it for quite some time. It was disgusting.
He didn't know where to start or what to do. Looking around he found an old wooden shovel, taking it into his own hands he decided to begin with cleaning the grounds…
_______________
It had been weeks since junsu arrived, living in this castle wasn't by any means easy. The other servant always despised him for no reason at all; he was always the laugh stock, the one they bullied around, the newbie. Junsu was too polite to answer them.
There had been only the old chef who was kind to junsu, treating him like a grandchild and sneaking him some soup and bread every day to eat while working on the better looking pigsty and stables, junsu would always help the old man with cutting and chopping vegetables when he was free and the man needed help. He liked him.
Junsu still didn't find out a way to reach yoochun. He couldn't find any information about him. Honestly, he didn't have time to search. He worked from sunrise till sunset, and when he finished he was too tired to do anything but drop on his bed and sleep.
He had asked about the prince, hoping against hope that it would be yoochun, his yoochun. But, he was told that the prince already had a lover, he always left in the morning to be with them and didn't return till late afternoon or something, at least, that was what the rumor mill in the castle was promoting.
If the prince had a lover already, then he couldn't be his yoochun. Junsu sighed as he thought about it once again. He needed to search for him, he needed to find him; this was too much already! Yoochun thought as he fed the pigs some corn
It was sunset, the castle had been buzzing with excitement all day long. It had been buzzing with excitement for a week now actually. It was the queen's birthday and the king had decided to throw a three nights in a row masquerade parties that ended on the night of her birthday, the first party was to begin tonight, so everyone was excited about it.
To tell the truth, junsu was excited about it as well, a royal party meant a lot of royal and important people coming, maybe yoochun will be one of them. But, he had to be careful that his father won't be one of them, he was a king too, after all.
Finishing his work early that night junsu sneaked into his chamber and sighed, he had been into many fairytales already but never was he allowed to enjoy a dancing ball like all the rest, once he had to rush away at midnight, once he was a swan…etc. he wanted to attend to a ball so badly.
Making up his mind junsu smirked a little; it wasn't really crashing the party, you don't need an invitation if you live within the castle's walls already, and besides, he was a prince as well. So, junsu bathed quickly, cleaned his skin off all dirt and smell and got the first bundle from underneath his bed, the outfit in the colors of the weather. He got dressed and fixed his hair and clothes, he them fashioned himself a mask from the silk sheet that made the bundle which contained the outfit and wore it, he looked perfect.
Sure that no one shall recognize him junsu sneaked out of his bedroom and toward the ballroom. Making sure no one was looking junsu sneaked inside, or that was the plan, for the second he set foot into the ball all eyes turned toward him at once. All eyeing the newcomer and talking about him and his amazing outfit, he looked divine, an eye candy for sure.
Taking a deep breath junsu descended the stairs and right into the dancing floor, he moved with amazing grace that screamed royal blood. His eyes were baring into them all, looking but not staring, searching but not prying. It was amazing.
Junsu looked around and somehow froze; there he was, right in front of him, standing by the wall looking at him, recognition in his eyes. Yoochun was staring at him.
Swallowing, junsu moved toward the man, yoochun moved at the same time, they met in the middle and yoochun grabbed his wrist at once, pulling him to the balcony and closing the glass doors shut behind them, the curtains in front of the doors were down, so they had their own privacy.
Not saying a word yoochun pushed junsu against the castle's stony wall and pressed their lips together in a demanding, controlling, passionate kiss.
They kissed for ten minutes or so, tongues dancing together, sliding against each other and exploring everywhere, hands roaming freely, bodies pressed against each other, need and lust and love was all around them, the air was thick with it. When the need for air became a must, they pulled away, both panting heavily
'You're here'
Junsu only nodded his head, still a bit dazed from the kiss
'You escaped your bastard father'
Again junsu nodded, how did yoochun know this? Was this the only fairytale he knew of? Then he was lucky, this shall be easier for both of them.
'I escaped' junsu confirmed
'I had been looking all around for you, I had been looking for that damned black book as well, but found nothing, it was driving me insane' yoochun cursed ' but you're here now, that's all that matters'
Junsu smiled gently, shyly
'You look amazing' yoochun went on, deciding he rather liked pink on junsu's cheeks.
The night flew by quicker than both of them wanted; they were wrapped in each other arms, dancing and kissing and dancing and kissing, they didn't speak much seeing it wasn't the most privet place to talk about important things, so they filled their time with other activities.
'You won't stay the night, would you?' yoochun asked sadly, almost pitifully when the clock chimed one in the morning.
'You know I can't' junsu whispered ' the rules' he whispered the last part extra low
Yoochun cursed again and kissed him:' you're coming tonight?'
Junsu nodded, biting his lip and savoring the last of yoochun's taste on his lips
'Then I shall let you go for now, good night, my petit' yoochun whispered, he hugged junsu close and nuzzled into his hair, taking in his divine smell.
'Good night, my prince' junsu whispered back before he untangled himself from yoochun and left the ball, sneaking to his chamber and quickly changing out of his outfit and placing the bundle once again, safely underneath the bed.
_______________
The day went on torturously slow for both yoochun and junsu. Junsu tried to concentrate on his job, but failed big time, he kept the donkey skin wrapped tightly around his body and with it he hid the goofy, dreamy grin on his lips. Tonight, he would be with yoochun again, he would be a step closer to ending this fairytale. He sure shall be happy to see this one end.
When night came junsu once again snuck into his bedroom, bathed, changed into the golden outfit and sneaked into the ballroom, yoochun was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs this time. As soon as he reached him, yoochun took a hold of his hand and led him away from everyone.
Once again, the balcony ended up being their sanctuary. They hid in it and much like last night they kissed and danced, talked about their selves, what they liked and hated, it was as if getting to know someone on a first date, but it had a lot more kissing and groping into it.
'You know' yoochun whispered ' I know there is someone eavesdropping on us right now, hiding behind the curtains and listening in on our conversation to inform my parents'
Junsu chuckled a little and nodded his head; he had come to the same conclusion earlier that night when he noticed a pair of feat behind the curtains.
It was past midnight, past their third glass of rum and seventh dance and somewhere around tenth making out session that junsu glanced at the old grandfather clock and sighed
'Time…?' yoochun whispered, his hands wrapped around junsu's waist, pulling him closer against his chest, not wanting him to go
Junsu nodded his head, sadly.
'You won't tell me how to find you, will you?'
Junsu shook his head desperately, he wanted to, he wanted to more than anything, but every time he tried to, his mouth closed shut and he couldn't speak, he couldn't cheat.
'I hate this' yoochun mumbled, he knew it wasn't junsu's fault but he still couldn't help it. He planted a one last kiss on junsu's lips and asked one last question ' you're coming tonight?'
Junsu nodded his head, smiled gently and left, sneaking out of the balcony and back into his room before anyone could see him dressed like royals. Lucky for him he knew the castle well by now to know his way without being seen.
_______________
Yoochun sat in front of the window and sighed, time was a bitch, he wanted it to fly past but it moved like a snail, IF it was moving to begin with - he doubted it. He wanted it to freeze and stop last night, but it flew by, flying hours in minutes. He hated it.
'Yoochun' a voice from behind him startled him back to reality.
'Mother, father' he bowed his head a little
'Son,' the queen begun ' this… gentleman…. You spent two nights with him… he's the one in the portraits, isn't he? The missing bride…'
Yoochun didn't answer
'Yoochun, answer your mother'
'I…it's a long story… we met before, I was a jerk to him…' yoochun flinched inwardly, remembering how he first acted when meeting junsu ' but then fate happened and forced us to stick together in a weird situation…I got a chance to get to know him and…' yoochun allowed himself to shrug ' magic happened, we fell in love, I fell in love…'
The queen smiled sadly
'But then, this king, his own father, came and demanded him to marry him, he just ran away… if anyone was to know he's here, then he will be forced back to his bloody father…'
'We can protect him' the king stated
'Not from this' yoochun shook his head, he had spoken the truth up till now, or at least an easier version of the truth, so he wasn't going to lie now ' you can't protect him from this, no one can but me, there are…err… spies everywhere, they will take him back to his father should they know, it must remain a secret…'
'Very well, I shall trust your judgment on this; at least you didn't declare a war on their kingdom, yet'
Yoochun nodded his head and went back to brooding and looking out of the window.
