Summary: Joking? Yoochun doubted that
Joking? Yoochun doubted that. He didn't doubt; he disbelieved already. After everything he saw here, after all the lies he came across, kidnapping babies would sound like a lie? Heck no, it was the most realistic thing in all this mess
The night went by with them snuggled together. Junsu, kibum and jaejoong were fast asleep in their lover's laps while yunho and changmin took turns to guard
Yoochun, on the other hand, was busy with something else, he was thinking everything through
The babies, the passageway yunho's mother spoke off, Lee Sungmin, the butcher, the killer, the dead lady, the mill, the forest and junsu… somehow things seemed to fit into the script yoochun thought off last night, but now he only needed proof
'Its sunrise' yunho mumbled softly, not to wake his sleeping lover
Yoochun nodded and stretched out his hands, junsu always woke around sunrise, so he's to wake up soon
Truth enough, a few minutes only passed and junsu began shifting in yoochun's lap, he blinked a few times and snuggled closer to yoochun before he opened his eyes and looked up, yoochun grinned at his baby and lent in for a quick kiss
'Chunie is awake early today' junsu whispered into the kiss, he kissed back still and smiled as they broke apart
'…I am' yoochun decided telling the boy he didn't sleep all night and making him worry won't be a good idea so he decided otherwise
Junsu stood up and dashed into the bathroom leaving a pouting yoochun, however he looked at the two still awake men and sighed
'Okay, let's check everywhere before un-barricading the inn… he's not around but he could've left us some traps around… he knows his way around here pretty well'
The two nodded, both looking uneasy and worried but determined just as much if not even more. They both wanted to secure the inn before their lovers wake up
'Let's go, yunho and I will go and you stay here to make sure they won't freak out to wake up alone' yoochun hissed and changmin nodded
'Don't worry if you couldn't find us around, we will check around the inn as well before coming back' yoochun spoke again and yunho frowned, he knew something wasn't right but didn't ask
The two of them checked every inch of the inn, no one and nothing was there, it was safe
'Okay, let's go' yoochun hissed going out of the back door and yunho followed, as they began to walk yunho knew they were heading to the ranch, it was the only thing there
The ranch looked almost deserted; the horses were fine though, all kept in the stables because of the snow, no workers were in sight, something yoochun didn't like as he kept a firm, tight grip on his gun
'Let's go in, is there any basement around?'
Yunho nodded; there was an underground storage room where food was kept for the winter, he had never entered the place though
'Lead the way'
Without a work he walked, his mother's words seemed to be reflected in the ground, the ceiling, the walls and even in the air around them, he couldn't think of anything but them, he had to make sure
Entering the kitchen and pushing a little wooden door open yunho pointed, yoochun led the way from that point. He bent low to enter the small door and looked around; it was absolutely pitch dark in here
'Got any torches around?'
Yunho retreated to the kitchen, grabbed a couple of torches and lit them up handing one to yoochun and holding the other himself. Never in his life had yoochun dreamt of walking in an underground, unknown tunnel holding a gun and a torch like this, ever. This was beyond his dreams, or nightmares more like it
'So…' yunho whispered softly looking at yoochun, they had reached the squared room which was used as a storage, but this time the room wasn't only used as a storage for food and grains but there were four dead, lifeless bodies stored in it as well
'What? Those are…' yunho widened his eyes, those were all his workers
'I thought we would find them here, look if anyone is missing' yoochun didn't seem so surprised, he looked at the pile of dead bodies and away looking around as if was just a dead mouse or something. Yunho, however, needed a while to get over the shock
Yoochun didn't wait, he walked around the room touching the stones, searching for anything and looking for any tunnels hidden here, it must be here, yunho's mother spoke of it even if indirectly in her letter, the murderer used it to get in and out of the ranch, so it must be here, he just needed to search
'The stables workers, the butler and the cook, all here' yunho whispered softly
'The maid?' yoochun cracked an eyebrow, not eyeing yunho but searching still
'I… she's not…she hadn't been here for a while…' yunho mumbled, thinking about it, he hadn't seen his maid in a while now
'I think we'll find her in the passageway, now look with me' yoochun answered casually and yunho shivered at the thought of another dead body waiting for him to find it
Reaching for the wall, he too began looking everywhere; he took the right side of the room while yoochun took the left one hoping to meet in the middle and safe the time
They did meet in the middle, where a few heavy boxes of sugar, salt and flour as it looked like were blocking the wall, the boxes were stacked together and reached a little beneath the ceiling
The two men shared a quick glare and began pushing the boxes away, something they didn't need as much power doing as they thought they would, the heavy boxes on top turned out to be placed on a shelf, a shelf that wasn't even seen due to all the boxes, the boxes beneath the shelf were all empty, they were just placed there to look heavy and full
Pushing the boxes away there is was, right in front of their eyes, the square wooden door just like the one they used to enter here
'Behind me' yoochun spoke and pushed the door open with his leg, he walked in and yunho followed him in
This tunnel was longer, way too longer, and they had to keep bent to be able to walk in it, they turned right and then left and walked a long while, yoochun had a pretty good hunch where this tunnel was leading them, but still, didn't want to talk
They reached another turn and this time were greeted by a mid aged dead woman, thrown on the ground
'Your maid I suppose' yoochun spoke calmly and kept on walking
Yunho didn't even try to speak; this was something he never dreamed of, he didn't think he could manage to talk
'She worked in the house for years, went in and out of the storage to grab food and stuff, she must have found the tunnel by accident and became dangerous, he had to get rid of her' yoochun explained ' and then he thought that maybe she told the others, the other workers were dangerous too, so he killed them as well'
Yunho closed his eyes for a split second, for a split second he wanted to turn around and walk back to the inn and stay there, he wanted to walk away from all of this, but remembering his mother died because of those tunnels, because of the tunnels that allowed the killer to get into the ranch undetected, so he pushed a leg in front of the other and pushed forward. At least, he wasn't alone
Finally, after what seemed like hours of walking they reached another wooden door, yoochun pushed it open and walked out, looking around, he knew the place at once, he remembered the place of course, the old mill… just as it was the day before, lonely and freaky, but this time they weren't inside of it, there were right behind of it
'W…' yunho was speechless, still trying to understand what's going on
Looking around with his back to the mill yoochun frowned; the field in front of them looked weird, looking at it like this, ideas filled his mind, ideas he had to make sure of
Yunho wasn't looking in yoochun's general direction; his eyes were glued to the wooden table to their right and to the dead, half decomposed man on it. He didn't think he could ever feel like eating now, not with this picture in mind
'Let's get to work' yoochun hissed and yunho blinked, looking around at yoochun he didn't like that look in his eyes, he didn't like it at all…
