Summary: 'How do we get back to our home?' junsu asked, worried
Suddenly, out of the blue, or out of the key for better say, a strong, shining light appeared and wrapped them all, they had to close their eyes to protect them from the light and when they opened them again they gasped in shock…
It wasn't just yoochun actually, they all looked horrified, but yoochun was the first to talk
'Changmin… where the hell are we?'
'It's… 'Changmin seemed unable to talk right now
'Home' kibum finished for him, unsure if to sound happy or frightened by this simple fact
'Home? As in your fuckin world home?' yunho widened his eyed and couldn't stop but ask
Changmin nodded; from far he looked at the green fields. At the blue sky… at the castle, the castle, it was there, standing high on the hill, looking so peaceful and quiet, as if nothing bloody happened there, as if the entire royal family wasn't killed there…
Changmin looked away from the castle; it was his home, the place he lived in for so long, seeing it again, remembering what happened in it; it wasn't an easy thing to do
Kibum too seemed to remember what happened, he was shivering, looking at the ground and trying to forget the images which rushed to his mind upon seeing his home, bloody images, images of dead people and lost friends
Changmin noticed the way kibum shivered and reached to take his hand into his own, hold it firmly and give it a soft squeeze, assuring him that he was there for him
'How do we get back to our home?' junsu asked, worried
Changmin shook his head and spoke again, his voice much weaker than usual:' I don't know. This entire gods' thing wasn't public information. I wasn't the one who was supposed to come and gather you, even, but his highness… his majesty, the one who should have came to get you was…killed… before he could come, I took over the mission in his place. I know nothing more than he told me' changmin spoke, admitting his new king was killed, the last of the royals, was like a dagger cutting into his heart
'Perfect…just perfect' yoochun hissed, angry
It wasn't like they didn't intend to come here, to this world. Of course they did, but it was too early for them to come now, they didn't master their powers, they didn't know anything about this world's history or about what they're facing… they were defenseless in a total strange world, of course they hated this
'But… how did we get here?' jaejoong asked softly, he was still holding onto yunho's bicep tightly, not letting go
'The key' junsu whispered, holding the thing for them to see, the key was looking strange now
'This damn thing?' yoochun looked ready to break the thing, so did yunho actually
'It felt hot… I couldn't keep it on my chest… it was burning…and, and then…' junsu whispered
Changmin frowned, he too didn't understand what was going on, and he didn't like it. As an army man he needed to know everything, to be on top of things, in control of everything around him. But now he was completely helpless, he hated it, badly.
'I…' jaejoong tried to stay calm and hide the tremble in his voice ' where do we go now?'
'I have a house, outside the castle, we'll go there first and think things through' changmin frowned; this was the only thing he could think about now. Why he had that house outside the castle when he lived his entire life in the castle and planned to live the rest of it there? It was something he inherited from his mother, he rarely went there, but he never sold it. It held the scent of his mother in it, it was special to him
They began walking, all following changmin, all looking displeased. A few steps later, however, changmin stopped and turned to look at junsu, he was walking ever so close to yoochun that it looked as if they were glued together, they key still held in his hand
'Wear that around your neck and keep it a secret. If anyone knew of it, they will try to kill to get it. People have changed severely; they aren't the sweet, innocent subjects they once were. They killed their king and his entire family because they lost their magic and thought his majesty had stolen it from them or whatever. If they knew you had a magical source, to the gods' powers nonetheless, they won't leave you alone until they get it for themselves'
Junsu shivered, he quickly placed the necklace around his neck and slipped it under his shirt
Junsu let out a gasp at once and pulled the thing away from his skin, he was shivering again now, although now it was a different kind of shiver
'What happened?' jaejoong was worried
'Is it still hot?'
'Are we going home?'
'What's the matter?'
Junsu didn't answer at once, he looked at them all and then at the key, he eyed it for a while before he felt it, it was so strong inside of him, telling him what he feared now
'It's called…it's so called… there's no magic in it' junsu shivered, the coldness of the thing was like when opening the door in a silver storm to be greeted by the freezing wind
'Can't be' yunho dismissed this
Changmin frowned, what did this mean? Was the key affected by the not working magic issue, as well? How were the gods going to save the day if they couldn't use their magic to do it?
'Is the thing broken?' yoochun frowned, he held the necklace and shook it, trying to see if it was broken or working. As he touched it he frowned, he took could feel the coldness, but it was bearable, not so cold to gasp from it as junsu did
'It is cold, but not that cold' he spoke, voicing his thoughts
'It is pretty cold' junsu frowned, looking at yoochun with a poor, pleading eyes, as if begging him to believe him. A look that made yoochun swallow dry while looking at it
'Let’s go and talk at my place, it would be safer there' changmin urged again and they all nodded
Instead of placing the necklace around his neck, junsu placed it in his pocket, wrapped with jaejoong's handkerchief and walked
The house wasn't far. They reached quickly. But as they walked junsu couldn’t' but notice something, everyone noticed it actually. There was no one on the streets, they were completely empty. No one was there in the market, no kids were playing around. No one was anywhere. It was as if a ghost town, and maybe it was, who knew? It is the magical world, after all.
Entering the house, kibum began working at once, uncovering the furniture and tiding everything up. Junsu and jaejoong felt sorry for him to be working all alone, so they joined him, while the three men left were standing behind a half shut window eyeing outside
Something wasn't right, they knew this. Something in this kingdom wasn't exactly the way changmin left it
The market, even though abandoned and closed, was in a good shape. The stores and the stalls, even the carts were all in their places. But during the war, during the time changmin left, the market was disturbed, he was sure of it. How come it was perfectly fine now?
Changmin looked around some more, or tried to more likely. When he failed to see past the market around the house he went up to the second floor, the two men followed.
Outside the window of the main bedroom changmin had a better view, it showed beyond the market to the hill they appeared n and to the castle, well almost the castle. It only showed a little of it, the towers weren't seen from here. If he wanted to see the towers of the castle, then he had to walk up to the roof and watch it from there
'You said the prince would know about us. Where did he know about us?' changmin asked, he couldn't but ask, if someone told the prince, then someone knows, then he or she would be able to help them
'There e had been …err…an old prophecy…about the four of you. No one was allowed to see it but the prince, so only he knows, as far as I know. But, I could be mistaken'
'Let's hope you are' yunho hissed, knowing what yoochun was aiming for with this question, simply because he was thinking about it himself as well
'We will search for anyone who knows and get him or her to help us' yunho added, finishing yoochun's idea. Yoochun nodded, somehow happy that yunho understood him and agreed with him
'We'll try to. But, it won't easy… I'll go to the roof' changmin mumbled
As changmin expected the two men followed him even to the roof, they stood there with him eyeing everything around them; it was all deserted, all empty
'Oh my god!!' changmin gasped suddenly and the two looked at him, blinking, not understanding anything at all
'It's… it's… 'Changmin seemed at a loss of words. He just pointed at the castle and the two men looked, not finding anything out of the ordinary...
