Prologue
It's strange. He's walking and he keeps on walking but there's no end. The pavement beneath his feet isn't changing and the car honks are still his only companions as he passes through busy streets and small, run-down parks. He feels like every new step is a victory, an epiphany of his existence.
His brownish-red hair is a contrast to the colors around him as he walks surrounded by this gray, monotone world. The wind blows in his ears bringing the screams of the hungry seagulls and the aroma of the salty sea.
Hoon closes his eyes and just for a split moment he feels the sand, the waves, the sun and if he just reaches out...
The eerie silence of the seemingly abandoned street is interrupted by an obnoxious siren. An ambulance is passing by.
He looks at the red splashes of color and wonders. What's the story of the person inside?
The young man continues to hear the shrill sound even after the vehicle itself is out of sight. Maybe after all he just imagined that face. The pale complexion and the eyes (far more lively than his own) staring at him through the glass.
Hoon doesn't believe in fairytales, happy endings and love at first sight.
Hoon doesn't believe in hope itself.
