I'm so sorry, Amanda. I got teary reading this. It's so hard to say goodbye to a family member and to be the one who has to make the decision about when it happens. I know you know you're doing the right thing, though, and I hope you take some comfort in that. It's an act of tremendous compassion.

Saw the picture of her last ride on facebook, so I came here figuring there'd be something to respond to.I've typed out and erased a few different responses, on similar things I've been through with animals and whatnot. Upon rereading each time though, I considered them hollow comfort.

As evidenced by the outpouring of love on facebook and here, you are not alone in this moment, let that thought give you what comfort it will.
