Tragerstreit's entry re: midnight roadside nightmare made me remember when I was eleven and the El Camino got a flat tire and my dad made me help him change it on the shoulder of I-5  with speeding traffic whizzing by four feet away ("learning experience"). We weren't too far from Seattle this week and almost popped in for the cheese festival, but decided to come home instead. I guess I am really glad that we did as I really don't like being crammed shoulder to shoulder with people very much.

They were the worst kind of people, too. Also it was like 90 degrees out and I left my parasol in the car. Misery!!

I blame my own naivety, I imagined it indoors and civilized! What was I thinking?! Who would have thought the plebes would descend en masse for moldy milk? I thought their taste ran more to floppy orange cheese you have to peel.
I'm glad you made it home at last in one piece.
