Let's see how I faired, shall we?
AFC East:
1. New England Patriots (2)
2. Buffalo Bills
3. New York Jets
4. Miami Dolphins
Perfect, with the exception of the 2 seed for the Patriots. I saw them being good, but not that good.
AFC North:
1. Baltimore Ravens (4)
2. Cincinnati Bengals (WC 2)
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. Cleveland Browns
Wow this division killed me. Not even close. The Ravens had a HUGE drop off this year, capped off with a nice loss to the Dolphins. The Bengals looked incompetent on both sides of the ball all year. Big Ben had a great year, which seems to be the difference between this year and last for the Steelers. And the Browns were a huge surprise.
AFC South:
1. Indianapolis Colts (1)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars
3. Tennessee Titans
4. Houston Texans
Right order, wrong wild cards. The Colts getting a first round bye is no surprise, but I didn't figure that David Garrard was going to step up like he did. Also, if the Titans do anything in the playoffs, it will be because of their defense. Vince Young looks like he's learned nothing in 2 years.
AFC West:
1. San Diego Charger (3)
2. Denver Broncos (WC 1)
3. Kansas City Chiefs
4. Oakland Raiders
Another division order picked correctly. I always underestimate the Broncos, so its nice to see that I overestimated them this time.
NFC East:
1. Dallas Cowboys (4)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (WC 2)
3. Washington Redskins
4. New York Giants
I'm still not sure how the Redskins made the playoffs. The Giants defense isn't always going to save them when Eli decides he wants to lose the game.
NFC North:
1. Chicago Bears (1)
Huge Jumbled Mess for Second: Packers, Vikings, Lions (Yet all are improving)
Brett Favre looks revitalized and the Bears declined in every way possible (except punt returns). Detroit's decline was pretty inevitable. Tavaris Jackson is an enigma, but I would wait another season before I called him a bust.
NFC South:
1. New Orleans Saints (2)
2. Carolina Panthers (WC 1)
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
4. Atlanta Falcons
The best mistake a made all season. The Saints have a good passing game and... that's it. The best thing that happened to them late in the season was Reggie Bush's injury. Carolina's offense is vomit inducing. Tampa's mummified team is a pretty awesome surprise.
NFC West:
1. St. Louis Rams (3)
2. San Francisco 49ers
3. Seattle Seahawks
4. Arizona Cardinals
The Rams were too injured to make a difference and the 49ers didn't know that giving the ball to Trent Dilfer was the stupidest thing you could do.
AFC Championship: New England over Indianapolis (for parity)
NFC Championship: Who cares
Super Bowl: New England devours either Rex Grossman or Drew Brees
Replace Rex Grossman or Drew Brees with Tony Romo or Brett Favre and it sounds pretty good to me.
