Today, without premeditation, a friend and I wound up taking a tour of religious structures in our city center. Actually, that sounds like a wonderful day. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Along a similar line, I like to walk around cemeteries and read headstones. The older the better. It's amazing to see a whole family laid to rest together. It's also pretty amazing that in many cases, especially with older couples, the second spouse dies within a year or so after the first spouse passes. It's sad but romantic at the same time. I have not been to a cemetery to walk around in years though. It's more fun with a second person, and most people get a little creeped out by the idea. But they are usually very peaceful places, and a great way to relax.

I used to just chill out in cemeteries--walking around, as you said, or just lying there reading. After my grandma died I visited her grave all the time, even knowing she wasn't there--I remember doing homework there on more than one occasion. :)

It sounds like a lovely day!

I have to agree with mhmartini, too; it's been too long since the last time I walked through a cemetery and looked at the headstones.

Churches are just beautiful! I may not visit them when everyone else does, but I do love to sneak a peak at the outside or inside of Churches. Many of them fascinate me, and the older the better!

Also, I agree with mhmartini, cemeteries also hold a certain draw for me.
