One of the things I dread doing for my wife is running errands to Whole Foods, the chief reason being I happen to love cheese -- soft cheese, hard cheese, imported European cheese, the good stuff. It's not that I can't, on occasion, afford to buy cheese and beer if I wanted to splurge. But spending $10-12 on a piece of cheese and the equivalent on a single fine quality beer in one sitting presents a mental obstacle in and of itself. Perhaps it's a class thing.
