What was a spelling contract?

spelling contract consisted of about 15 or 20 or some number of words like that that were given at the beginning of the week. Each day there was an assignment to complete using the words, Monday ABC order, Tuesday definitions, Wednesday use each word in a sentence, Thursday 5 times each, and then you would turn in your lovely packet in on Friday. And on friday, I think there would be a spelling test on those words.
that was a spelling contract!
