Every time I say I'm done with finale codas someone whose fic I adore writes one and I have to cave and read it. Poor Ben. Poor Lisa and especially poor Dean. What's broken in him isn't going to be fixed by his fantasy family, no matter how much all of them want it to be. And this is just how it would be. Not ending well and hurting all of them. I love grown up Ben's take on it all though and I loved this story, though it made me all sad again.

Eep, sorry to drag you back in! It was an emotionally draining finale, right? I think (hope!) that s6 will gloss over some of this and allow the characters at least a little peace, but until then, writing stuff like this and interacting with people over it has been cathartic.
