Things Change, and This is a Bad Thing

Ever since Lee Majors grew a chintzy John Waters mustache for the fourth season of The Six Million Dollar Man, I have developed a keen sense on spotting signs that some egregious change is coming about in the shows I love. Sometimes, it is something major, like the lead characters falling in love and/or getting married (ie; Moonlighting, I Dream of ( Read more... )

And I agree on all accounts. Briscoe County JR never had a decent run. Sadly most of my favorite shows I can't watch because SOMEHOW the signal is always borked.
Seriously, all my memories of Briscoe are tainted with a lot of static.

Platypus Man and Pig Sty were 2 great shows that didn't even get to jump a shark - they were shoved aside for StarTrek "Of course they're lost, there's a woman driving" Voyager. I, raised by a Trekkie, actually boycotted the series until 7 of 9 showed up.
I was hoping PlatypusMan might make a comeback, but the lead committed suicide. Because Richard Jeni did that, I'll probably not get a chance to get the episodes that were made now.
Fucking UPN

In the beginning of season 3, he tried to push some weird trinket thing on the show, with disastrous results. I remember several cast members bitching about it.

Yeah, that would be the IDIC charm... I think it was probably designed by some friend who needed cash, so the great bird tried to make it this big deal. Nimoy was especially insulted.
