you can beat me if this doesnt belong but...

After thinking about things a bit more than is probably necessary I noticed some... variances in Miles' personality between the end of T&T and AAI, so.. My request is that.. someone explore this sudden, and rapid, character shift (I mean, it's only supposed to be a few weeks later, right?)

So the kink would be character conflict/inner-struggle maybe even some emo in there, if you want... But I dont want this to be about Kay.. I feel like.. his character had developed or shifted rather substantially even before Kay became a heading role in this game.

Interpret this all however you see fit... or ignore it, IDK, I'm open to twins, dark secrets, inner demons, anything really, I kinda just wanna see what people can come up with...

/NEW HERE... s-sorry if this is dumb or out-of-place ;__; OTZ

I would TOTALLY fill this if I were any good at writing!

...Unfortunately, I'm not. I'm more of an artist (although I'm not great at that either ;A:). I hope someone fills this prompt, though!

My headcanon is that right after T&T, he got on some new meds. He's still adjusting to them while AAI is going on.

Seriously, it's not too hard to handwave things. XD

You both know Edgeworth hasn't actually changed that much, right?

I disagree anon. I think Edgeworth has changed notably. I don't want to get into an argument whether AAI was good or not because it's irrelevant, but the variances are there. Everything from his overreacting overuse of the "Nghoo" exclamation joke, to suddenly being more socially competent (when before he couldn't even admit that an Earthquake had bothered him to Phoenix, or talk to Maya himself when he was the one who understood what she was going through), to his usual disdain of criminals being toned down, to even the way he handles investigations (when before we were led to believe that Gumshoe was competent enough to at least put together a case, and Edgeworth seemed less hands-on in the process ( ... )

Fantastic points, and I very much enjoyed reading your reply. I never played JFA or T&T, and so I feel like I learned something about Edgeworth today~ Hey, maybe I won't think Edgeworth is so overrated now. Saying that it was a "year of self-discovery" earned a little bit of my respect there.

Personally, I never thought Edgeworth ever was going to change professions. I mean… COME ON, GUYS. SERIOUSLY.

Oh, seriously? In AAI2 they're making Edgeworth indecisive over being a prosecutor? D:

IMHO anons I think the only reason for Edgeworth's change in AAI was the new characterisation by the writing team. I want to have a headcannon that explains it all, but I can't think of any reason - as you have pointed out - for the NGHOOO and the illegal evidence.

I like to be nerd!anon and go in depth with the AA:PW series with my own theories and explanations, and to an extent I did that with AJ (though not too much if I'm honest) but with AAI I just the played the game as it was, and that's what I'm going to expect for AAI2.

But it was really interesting to read these points anon, thanks for bringing them up!

Okay, my new solution is that GK takes place in an alternate universe or continuity than GS. I mean, a spinoff is a spinoff, right?

Still, the fact that the new writing team has apparently missed the point sooo badly makes me sad. :(

Jesus Christ, take your bitching and moaning about a game that's only been out for a week (and mightn't even be localised) somewhere else.

The only one I see bitching and moaning is you.

I was kinda thinking along the same lines as it being an AU. I mean, Japan does that a lot, it seems, make a book or novel and then reinvent it for a new genre. I supposed I just was thrown off by the shift because it was still the same genre, rather than have just went along with it? ._.

This.

All of it.

Thanks for the brilliant words, anon. I'm perfectly fine enjoying GK for a game and my fluttering fangirl heart is eagerly awaiting GK2 for... reasons... but you're right. Different writing team is different and I feel like Edgey loses quite a lot of depth because of it.

Doesn't mean I don't enjoy the game though. :) Thanks for your two cents'; I enjoyed the read.

So, then I am not the only one who felt this way about AAi/2? I was so disheartened while I played through AAI bacause, unfortunately, as it were, the uber!nerd in me takes over when it comes to Edgeworth and.. things seemed not as they had previously been~

I honestly feel that weird form of mis-characterization was also extended to Gumshoe, for various reasons, but I dont want to sound like I hated the game, I was just incredibly confused by things that seemed to contradict the earlier timelines~~

If anyone still wants to make a fil though, I'd be more than excited to see what you awesome writers can come up with~ <3<3?

I... kinda hope, and wish, that Miles never had to resort to meds... I mean MAYBE after his suicide attempt he sought a therapist, or maybe he'd been going to one all along and it was that which aided him in deciding not to end his life... Maybe after RFTA he was put on meds, or decided to fo on his grand misadventures to wherever, but when he came back he seemed to know where he stood, The ground was solid again and he knew what that his role was important. Yeah, he still has a problem with earthquakes, but last I checked, I dont think they make anti-pass-out meds~ (and if they do WHYYY don't I have them yet, seriously)

Judging from his character development in the T&T and JFA though... it didnt seem like he would have needed a switch. If he was on any meds.. they seemed to be doing their job. People don't have their meds changed when the meds are working unless they are lowering the dosage for any of various reasons... I suppose it's a plausibility.. though it would dishearten me if it were valid.
