The breath leaves her body as she feels Lang's weight against her back, how he goes rigid for a moment and oh god no. A guttural scream bursts from her throat, cursing his kind ways inwardly as she wonders whether she's broken the promise to herself after all.

All she'd needed was Little Thief. The encrypted data she'd stored there all those years ago would've been more than enough to get that bastard's immunity revoked, but now it was out of reach.

There was the back-up, but that was only good for if she could give it to Lang in the event she was caught--it was worthless if he had just died for her ( ... )

Not the OP, but I loved this. I always thought she wasn't entirely in support of Alba by the end.

I love this. I thought they were going to tell us Shih-na was his daughter in the game, I really saw it coming, and then....they never did. =/

I love Shih-na, and this is a great story with her. <3

omg omg you took my headcanon and WROTE IT SO PERFECTLY TOO.
I also thought of the same similar convoluted idea that Shi-Na was unwillingly binded to Alba by something more than loyalty/money and resented having to kill Faraday after working with them for three years.

I mean seriously, that "I was destined to betray everyone from the very beginning" thing had to be hiding something, we see too much of Shih-na to think she'd do things for no reason and it just didn't make sense. :< Alba's a big enough douche to find a way to make her do it unwillingly so I was kinda banking on that. :'3
