Wheeee, pianos~ anonymous February 13 2011, 21:35:18 UTC
Try this on for size, anons. I just....I can't get this out of my head, and I'd like to see what you guys think.

There is a rival bar to the one Phoenix plays at, that gets a new pianist. Everyone goes there because they think the new guy is sexy the new guy can actually play piano is attracting customers. Trucy and Phoenix investigate, only to discover......

Apollo/someone Phoenix knows very well is the piano player at the rival bar.

WHAT. HAPPENS.

I honestly have no idea where this came from, I just got the idea while listening to Billy Joel.....and I thought Polly might play Joel songs well? *cries* wtf is this I don't even--

Phoenix Wright was baffled at the crowds in the Borscht Plate, a hip new bar that had slowly been leeching customers away from the Borscht Bowl. He'd heard that they had an amazing pianist, but could the ambient music of a restaurant really be enough to attract so many customers? Something was fishy, and Phoenix was going to find out what.

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon when Phoenix appeared at the restaurant, and was greeted by a frazzled hostess who informed him that there would be a thirty minute wait before he could be seated. Phoenix threw a casual glance over at the piano and recognized two long, thin strands of brown hair peeking up from behind it.

The pianist started playing a simple riff, and before long, a voice that Phoenix recognized from early morning Chords of Steel sessions began to sing...

The only way this could possibly be made better would be with a music video.

I bow to you, anon.

OP here. Ohmigosh, thank you for the fill! I love it very, very much.

Also, is there a specific tune for Polly's little song? It's great--you went through all the cases, wow!

It's to the tune of "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTLKWw542g)

I started out just doing the chorus, planning to put it as a joke in the middle of a more traditional fill, but I started getting more ideas for the verses and eventually just decided to build the fic around the song.

Eeeee, I love that song!

Ha, I was actually thinking something along those lines; just a Ace Attorney version of Joel's "Piano Man". Anyway, I seriously love this and it's great! The song's awesome, and so are your new verses. :3
