I don't think the article you linked is their point/counterpoint article. It was written back in February and cited before on Boing Boing. Same asshole though.

Asshole or not, I can understand the environment he's surrounded by/attempting to document. While working in Newport Beach, I was surrounded by precisely the women he's suggesting as the ideal type for marriage: pretty, vain, fashion-conscious, emotionally adolescent, and working at a job that doesn't pay much or offer much growth for the ambitious.
And sure enough, their boyfriends/husbands were rich real-estate brokers or power player agents!
Guys like this aren't particularly emotionally developed themselves (I've yet to meet one that's acts more mature than a frat boy/beach bum, regardless of age). They tend to have their ego tied up in their job. The older they are, the worse it gets.
