[[OOC: FINALLY, Little late, but this is the Halloween RP! The first part’s been written by Wormmon-mun and Miyako-mun, and myself and Miyako-mun wrote the rest!
It turned out muchly longer than I’ve expected it to be, but I for sure, had fun.
Hopefully, you guys will enjoy it as well, and any feedback is welcomed! Thank you!
Also I've backdated the entry to keep it to the time flow in the RP! It's long, so I warn you beforehand~
I'm sorry, but I'll just post for now as lj cutting has been bugging me the past twice I tried to post it.
The entry shows up on my journal, but it appears it doesn't on anyone else's. Weird.
And sorry. >_< Haven't had time to gramatically correct it.]]
Miyako was dancing with Hikari and Ken and Wormmon arrived late, as painting Wormmon had taken longer than what they’ve expected.
Looking around, Ken spotted the dancing girl right away and stood there surprised for a while. It was wormmon himself, tugging on the bottom of his costume and saying, "lets go see who it is" With his friend’s encouragement, Ken started approach towards two familiar faces.
Miyako searched the room for blue hair, hoping desperately for Ken. Maybe her brother was right. Maybe Ken...no, she wasn't going to think such things. Ken would come, wouldn't he?
Wormmon was the first one to make it to the two dancing girls, though he had to do a bit of dodging to get there around other dancers. He looked up curiously at Miyako saying
"Hi, I'm onyx though I’m usually wormmon, who are you?"
Ken came up next saying "honestly Wormon can't you recognize Miyako when you see her?" He was dressed as Hawkmon himself, so he followed with "I guess we had the same idea. Great minds really do think alike" with a slight blush.
Miyako smiled brightly and barely kept himself from glomping the boy. "Yeah! I was starting to get worried that you thought this was weird. Do you want to go talk, or dance, or...something?"
"If Hikari doesn't mind me cutting in for a while" *attempts to say the next part in hawkmon's voice*
"May I have this dance”?
"?" Wormmon then tugged on kens pants once more and tells Ken he is going to find the other digimon before he gets stepped on.
And leave Ken and Miyako to dance for a while.
Miyako giggled at Ken's impression, "You don't make a very good Hawkmon. I like you much better as Ken. I really, really like you as Ken," she murmured the last part blushing. How could one guy be this cute? And what on earth did she do to get him?
"I like you better as Miyako too, wormmon isn’t nearly as pretty and smart..." Wormmon who really hadn't gone to find the other digimon, but decided to hide and spy on the couple instead *huffed* but could not be heard or notices the music.
... But till then I don't think he just end up shuffling more than dancing...
Miyako danced happily with Ken, this is what she wanted. To spend time with her Ken.... her Ken.... that was possessive. That would mean that she.... did she love him? She laughed at Ken. He could barely dance! He was so adorable.
Ken shuffled his feet a bit, he was totally out of sync with the music and he knew it. Though thankfully his mask hid most of the red in his face. I knew he could dance, well at least a bit; he was just kind of nervous. I mean he was dancing with miyako after all...
Miyako giggled at Ken, he was just too cute! Was he always like this? She grabbed his hand and forced him to stop dancing. "I thought the joke was that white men couldn't dance," she teased.
"Oh...but you know. I'm not white." Ken blushed at her teasing.
"I know, so what's the problem?" she asked. Her heart pounded in her chest. She heard a voice in her head scream to run away, that he was just going to hurt her again, but she refused to listen to it. Her worry showed briefly on her face.
"It's...well...it's because..." Ken shifted his toes anxiously. What is it that it made him breathe with difficulty whenever he's with her? Ken frowned a little under his beak, and shifted his eyes. “.... Diamond." He whispered barely inaudible.
"Diamond?" The first thing she thought when he said that was a ring....he couldn't mean that. He....Miyako slowly stepped away. She couldn't even admit she loved him.....
Ken sighed deeply. It took him mere seconds to figure out he's messed something up. Blushing hard, he said with clearer voice. “.... It is impossible to control my own limbs when a diamond shining this bright is standing before me." Good god, he was sure his face right now matched the shade of red in hawkmon's fur, if not any redder.
"Ken! You're too sweet!" The voices yelling at her earlier calmed down.
Mantarou came up behind Miyako, "So, you boyfriend showed up, that's a first."
Ken quickly looked at the stranger, and furrowed one of his eyebrows.
"Miyako, who's this?"
Miyako rolled her eyes at Mantarou, "This is my stupid annoying brother, Mantarou."
"What? You don't remember me from when you picked up Miyako for a date? Oh wait, you haven't done that. You've only taken her on one date and she ran home crying!"
"Mantarou! You said you would be better!" Miyako whined.
"You said you would be less of a brat, but you haven't started to do that."
"Stupid lollicon!"
"She's not that much younger!"
Ken sweat-dropped at current situation. Now really wasn't the time to get caught up in the middle of sibling fight. Quickly removing the look of bewilderment off his face, and ignoring Mantarou's rather rude comments, Removing his Hawkmon mask to show face, Ken smiled bowed,
"Hello. Nice to meet you. I am Ken Ichijouji."
After this, he looked straight into the Mantarou, and started.
"I apologize for not picking Inoue san up. It certainly doesn't make a great first impression, especially since Inoue-san was distressed after our first date. However, I am willing to do everything possible to make up for the mistakes I've made. She has been very precious person to me for a very long time, and I'm proud to say that I..." Ken withdrew his breath for a sec. "love her."
When he confessed his feelings once again, -though indirect- a sharp pang hit his chest. No. She hasn't given him a clear answer yet.
Mantarou just looked at Ken, up and down, "Miyako told me that, but that still doesn't make you good enough for her." Mantarou looked at his youngest siblings. He knew of very few men good enough to date her. Didn't she realize the most men were evil and were going to hurt her, like Ken already had?
"Don't mind, Nii-san, he's just trying to butt himself where he doesn't belong." Miyako glared at her brother, he was such a pain, why could he leave her alone in this for once?
Miyako...said I wasn't good enough? Mantarou's revelation struck Ken like a hard blow to his gut. This wasn't helping him with his insecurities he already faces with this relationship. Ken lowered his head, and squeezed his temples.
The cold air in the stadium has hit him hard on his cheeks, and it burned. The loud atmosphere, and the fast song that was playing weren’t helping either. Shaking his head, Ken thought to himself. "Get a grip. It's only reasonable he'd be defensive, after seeing his own sister so stressed. It's NOT the time for you to get emotional."
...Though it was for sure forced, Ken smiled. "It's okay. "
"He's just jealos that I have a boyfriend, and he doesn't have a girlfriend," Miyako continued, turning her head to Ken. "Maybe we should go talk privately, Away from unfavorable people." Miyako glared back at Mantarou, again.
"I'm not leaving you alone with him."
"Hello! We can't exactly be alone in here!"
Mantarou grabbed Miyako to force sense into her, "You remember what happened to Hikari!"
"Nothing's going to happen, I'll bring Hawkmon, if it'll make you feel better."
Ken tried to shut out the noise. The loud fighting surely wasn't helping him when he felt shock from what he reflected on what felt was implied. He took a deep breath, then paused for a second, trying to gather his thought. ...Okay. What was it that Inoue-kun said? ...Exactly. I need the exact phrase.
"Miyako told me that, but that still doesn't make you good enough for her."
... OH! Suddenly came a realization to Ken.
Miyako has told his brother he has confessed to her, not that he isn't good enough for him.
Despite the noise, recovering from the shock, Ken couldn't help but crack a laugh.
"Why are you laughing?" Mantarou used is somewhat imposing height against Ken.
"Are you laughing at me?" He asked with resentment in his tone.
Miyako grabbed Mantarou's arm. "You're such an idiot!" Miyako said, pulling him back. "Please leave us alone! I really need to talk to Ken," she begged.
Ken quickly apologized. "No, I apologize. I was just laughing at myself as I mistook what was said to me just moment ago." With a smile, Ken grabbed one of Miyako's hand, loosening her firm grip on the older boy. As Mantaro looked at him questioningly, he looked at him straight in the eyes then continued. "As Inoue san stated, I'm sorry, but we would like some personal time. Though I perfectly understand why you'd think I don't deserve her, first I'd like to sort it out with her. Please understand, and let us have some time alone."
Mantarou looked ready to slap Ken and snatch Miyako back. He placed his hands on Miyako shoulders again to pull her back. He then realized that Miyako was, in fact, 17, and if she trusted him, then maybe..."You hurt her again, Ken, I'll kill you," he said. He released her shoulders. "I'm going to find Hawkmon and send him to look after you."
Ken bowed politely. "Thank you very much for understanding."
Ken took Miyako's hand, and then gave it a slight tug. Playfully, he whispered to her. "Miyako-Chan, let's get away before he changes his mind." Sending her a small wink, he smiled.
Miyako smiled before giving one last fleeting look at her brother, why did he let her go? She wondered. "Yeah, let's go," she said, pulling him along to the corner where she had previously cried while talking to Hikari.
Turning back, Ken gave the older boy one final glance. He had one of the scariest expressions he's ever seen on his face, but Ken lowered his head politely, not forgetting to thank him again. He couldn't help bug smiling some more, as Mantarou raised a fist. As Miyako was pulling him away, he raised his hand, a gesture of gratitude.
…
"Don't mind my brother, he just likes to be overbearing and overprotective. I'm sure one day he'll accept you." Assuming we date that long the little voice in her head said.
"Oh no problem. You have a wonderful brother." Ken smiled with wistful look on his face.
I wonder Osamu would've done the same if he was alive.... though case is different because Inoue san's well.... a sister.
He looked at her. "Just the fact he's given me another chance with you, shows that he's willing to accept me one day. As long as you are fine with that. Miyako."
"Wonderful brothers don't threaten death against their little sister's boyfriends," she said raising an eyebrow.
"And I think it's because my parents are trying to make me grow up, maybe Mantarou is playing along." She grabbed his hands. "We need to talk, Ken...we really need to talk," her eyes were already watering.
Ken nodded. "I'm all ears. Tell me what you feel. Miyako...."
....Ken felt his shoulders tensening up. He knows he has been a big jerk. There are some things he shouldn't have done, though he was scared of confrontation himself.
"I....I'm afraid you're going to disappear again.....I need to know you're not going to do that."
With this, Ken couldn't help it but give Miyako a hug. Though it's awful to feel such happiness after seeing her heart-broken look that confirmed Ken of something shining. Yes. A chance. HE was afraid. And if she too, had felt the same thing that could only mean something positive.
"Miyako san. I promise. I PROMISE, that I would NEVER disappear."
Ken was ecstatic. He could feel his cheek burning up. "I'll be your side, forever if you would grant me the honor. I have told you once, but I love you, and I have loved you for a long time. And this fact doesn't change, even if you can't give me the clear answer."
Miyako hugged Ken back, tight. If felt very good to have someone pressed against him.
Raising his arms too, Ken held Miyako.
...
"Ken....I just don't know yet....I don't......I try to think about it....but....I just end up wanting to cry," she nuzzled her nose into his chest, wiping away her tears and make up.
"I care for you to much......I think......I think I do......but....how can you be sure?" She looked up into his eyes. She just wanted to kiss him.
Ken looked lovingly at Miyako. Though it was clear that she wasn't sure still, of her feelings, but it didn't matter right now. Perhaps, he should follow Daisuke's advice, which in other occasions he thought was absolutely ridiculous. "Don't think, just do it, And figure it out later." At this, he normally shook his head, but perhaps just this once, just this once it might be wise choice. After all, if he didn't now, when will he ever get to? Ken gently cupped one of Miyako's cheek, then kissed her on the forehead.
Miyako blushed as she felt Ken's lips on her forehead. Yet more proof that he liked her. Not that she needed anymore. She already knew he did. She looked up at Ken's face and stared at him with a smirk. She reached up a hand and gently touched his cheek, while the other one held the hand on her own cheek.
Smiling the defeated smile, Ken leaned forward....
Miyako closed her eyes. Was Ken going to do what she thought he was going to do?
Ken leaned forward..... and blew a breath to her lips. Quickly turning his head to the side, he kissed her on the cheek, then smiled at her playfully, totally expecting a look of surprise from her.
Miyako opened her eyes in shock. He was smiling at her! Why the stupid....Miyako pushed away from Ken and turned away. "Jerk!" she said, turning around to look at him. She stuck her nose in the air and hummed.
That was so like Miyako. Ken grinned, though current situation was tad troubling. After about 30 seconds of silence, Ken started. "Miyako."
"Yes?" she turned around with a cheesy grin on her face. "Did you want something, dear?" Miyako pulled at her hair and twirled it around her finger, flashing grins at Ken.
Sighing, Ken continued. She was making it tough for him. He looked at her seriously. "Miyako. I apologize for what I did just now, if it wasn't what you were expecting. ...But you know. I think the real kiss should be saved until we're both sure of our feelings."
"For me, it's okay to wait. Though I have been a real jerk past little while~and I apologize for that~ but then again, I was afraid of how you'd react."
Miyako continued to play and pull on her hair, as was her nervous habit. "Ken.....it's just....how can I know how I feel when I don't get to spend a lot of time with you?........how are you so sure?"
Ken nodded. "I'm really sorry for what I have done. I should've gathered my courage and should've stayed around you, but I was afraid that you'd get afraid of me approaching you. So I've purposely distanced myself from you for a while, only to find myself missing you crazily. .... and as for my feelings, I.... can be so sure of it since I've always thought of you as a woman. ... Since the day you've slapped the sense into me." Ken finished, blushing. He lowered his head in embarrassment. He really wasn't used to speaking so much, all at once, so openly.
Miyako remembered back to when Silphymon first appeared and how Hikari, Ken and herself got dragged to the dark ocean. "We were only 12, I didn't look much like a woman." She had barely started developing her hips and chest then. It wasn't until 2 years ago that she started menstruating. Miyako had to fight her urge to hug him again. He was so sweet and wonderful and hers.....she......
"Ken...." she hugged him again, she needed to feel herself pressed against him. "I.....I.....love you. I think I have for a very long time."
Even if he had conquered the digital world, or had been selected as the top world-class athlete, he doubted he would've been as happy as he is right now. He could felt his eyes getting hot and moist, though, he would never, never let himself cry. Ken looked up on the sky for short second to prevent the liquid, but securely held his beloved. The stars were so bright, and playing was Yamato's Tobira. He gazed at purple haired girl, who have lingered in many many dreams of his. "...You know my answer.” and with this, Ken kissed Miyako softly,on the lips.
Miyako kissed Ken back, rather awkwardly. She pulled away and buried her head in his shirt, wiping off any remaining traces of green make up. When she looked back at his face, she used a finger to wipe away around his mouth her purple lipstick. She giggled. "You don't look that good in make up," she teased.
Ken wiped off rest of the make up on his face, using the Hawkmon feathered costume, but made sure to reply, "You sure? You never know... I just might, look good if I really tried".
Miyako giggled, "What? Are you going to start dressing in drag? If you ever want, I'm sure Mimi and Chizuru could give you lots of application tips."
"Only if you'll be my man." Grinning himself, Ken nudged Miyako. For once in his life, he was glad that he was the Digimon Kaiser, for otherwise, he wouldn't have met this girl.
"I don't know, you may be pretty, but you make a better man than I do. I don't think I'm shaped right," she said looking down, and motioning to her curves.
Ken nodded in agreement. "That's a shame. I would've paid to see Daisuke's look when he sees me in drag."
Miyako laughed and pulled away to leaning over slightly in her giggle fit. "You know, I'm sure we could still put you in drag. I wonder if you'll fit into my stuff. What size are you?" She walked around him, trying to judge.
At that, Ken started to feel his blood rushing out from his face. "Uh.... is this where I should start running?"
Miyako froze when she realized he was still joking. "Uh....sorry? Does saying I love you help?"
"Yes and no. Appears I do have to start running after all."
"I'll just take you with me."
With this, he grabbed Miyako's hand and started running towards the stage.
"C'mon. Next song will start."
"Ken-kun, what are you doing? Why are you dragging me towards the stage?"
Ken laughed. "Remember? What'll play now's Hittori botchi no see-saw. After this, Yamato wanted all chosens to sing with the band right? Let's go find Wormmon, and Hawkmon."
"Ken, do we have to find my brother? Can I leave him here?" she asked, half whining.
"He's not one of the chosens. Is he?" Replied Ken, not too interested in idea himself.
"No, but he was supposed to be my escort for the night. It was the only way they allowed me to come."
"But once you're on stage, he'll see you and come TO you."
"More like he'll see you next to me and want to wring your neck," Miyako sighed, "At lease you didn't hurt me, so he has no reason to hurt you."
Ken sighed. "Right. And it is impolite to be this way when he has given us the time to sort things out. I think the happiness-virus got to my head just now." Smiling, Ken asked. "So, where do you think your brother would be?"
"Probably finding Hawkmon, like he said. I think Hawkmon can keep him busy." The bird digimon knew her too well. If he saw her with Ken and smile on her face, he could keep her niisan busy.
Remembering the fact he had the device, Ken pulled out his dig vice. "It appears Wormmon's nearby. Why don't you check yours and see where Hawkmon is?"
Miyako went into her pocket and pulled out hers. "It looks like he's with a bunch of the other digimon over there," she pointed.
Ken nodded. "I'm sure Wormmon's with them too. Let's go get them."
Miyako followed the blip on her D3 to find Hawkmon and, most likely, her brother.
Ken looked around to see if his little buddy was amongst the crowd. Though it was really tough since it was night, and well. Wormmon wasn't the tallest of all digimons, quite unfortunately.
Miyako looked at Ken, "Uh, should we separate and meet up in a minute with our digimon?"
Ken nodded. Looking around, he found a huge poster of Teen-age-Wolves, posted on top of a heavily graffiti-ed wall. Pointing to the poster, Ken continued. "We'll meet here in 10. Hopefully we'll still make it to the group session after that. I'm so glad fans are calling encore right now."
Miyako nodded to go search for Hawkmon. He actually found her.
"Miyako, I hope you had a pleasant conversation with Ken."
"Very pleasant. I told him I loved him."
"You love him, squirt?" Mantarou asked.
"Yes, I do."
Mantarou searched the crowd for Ken. He wanted to give him the conditions to date his little sister.
"Mantarou, be scary elsewhere, Ken and I need to meet up with the others onstage. You're not allowed to come, it's a Chosen Children thing. Come on, Hawkmon."
Hawkmon bowed to Mantarou and followed Miyako, glad she was finally happy with Ken. He just worried he would break her heart again.
Wormmon was found poking a hot dog a random teenager dropped. It was getting cold, and it looked as Wormmon was getting really hungry. Ken could tell because Wormmon started to twitch his antennas, which usually is a good sign to fetch him something to eat. "Wormmon, it's about time to go onto the stage." Ken said cheerfully, making sure he has kicked away the hot dog. After all, his friend deserved better. MUCH better.
"Aww..." Wormmon looked at hot dog sadly.
Laughing, Ken picked up his friend. "I promise. After we meet up with Inoue san, I'll get you something nice."
"Okay. Ken-Chan. Steaks okay?" Wormmon added, and Ken nodded in agreement. "For sure."
With this, they hurried towards the graffiti-ed wall.
Miyako stood at the graffi-ed wall with Hawkmon walking behind her. Upon seeing Ken and Hawkmon together again, she laughed. "Maybe we should change partners," she suggested.
"Greetings. Hawkmon. I'm Hawkmon." Ken bowed politely, the usual manner Hawkmon does. Such a gentleman. It'll be tough to top him. Ken thought to himself, smiling, but furrowing his brows a little.
Hawkmon bowed, "Good evening Ken. I hope you have worked out things with Miyako." He didn't want to see Miyako upset again.
Sensing the worry in Hawkmon's tone, Ken continued. "No worries. We've sorted it out. I'll try my best to be the best boyfriend."
"Good, because I am much more forgiving than Mantarou."
"Hawkmon, there's no need to worry, it's Ken."
Hawkmon raised an eyebrow at Miyako. He didn't believe in bringing up that past too much since it couldn't be changed. This also made it difficult for him to prove his point. He answered her with silence, which proved surprisingly effective most of the time.
"It's different now," she said softly.
"Uhhh....." Wormmon fidgeted a little. "Uh...guys? I think... we should hurry up."
Miyako nodded, "Sorry," she murmured. "Where are we supposed to meet up again?"
"Up on the stage."
"it was our cue to come up, when Ishida san finishes doing the encore of Hitori bocchi no see-saw."
Miyako nodded to Ken, "Okay, and just one more thing before we go there. Can I have
another kiss?" she asked, blushing.
Ken blushed hard. "I... in front of our partners?"
Hawkmon shook his head, how very like Miyako. "Later, please? I believe we should be heading over to the stage."
Wormmon was already ahead of them. "Guys, hurry up!"
Hawkmon followed his fellow digimon. Miyako stepped in behind. She reached out a hand, hoping to capture Ken's. This was the happiest she had been in a while. Hopefully nothing would ruin it.
Ken felt something warm tugging at his index finger. Curing corners of his mouth into a curve, he held her hand, giving it an approving squeeze. Engulfed in happiness, he stepped towards the stage, where the friendly faces welcomed them.
