OOC: Dream #2

Oct 25, 2009 19:53

This was Heaven.

Morning sunlight shone in through the windows, bathing everything in a gentle yellow glow, including the two lovers curled together on a seemingly endless bed with luxurious sheets. Sky's eyes were closed, and he was enjoying the warmth on his face coupled with the feeling of Companion curled against him. He turned over just enough to kiss her cheek, run his fingers through her hair, gently bringing her to wakefulness. She smiled and snuggled closer when he did so, her voice a sleepy murmur when she spoke.

"Good morning, darling..."

"Hey, beautiful," he whispered back, now kissing her forehead. "Did you sleep well?"

"Mmm..." She nodded, yawning. Sky sat up, and Companion did as well, leaning against him.

"I did, too, thanks for asking!" said another, familiar voice cheerily, and Sky yelled, nearly jumping out of his skin when he turned to his left to see Bridge (mercifully fully clothed), sitting cross-legged nearby. He had no idea how he hadn't noticed him before, and wondered why Companion didn't seem at all disturbed by his presence. "...Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Why are YOU in bed with my girlfriend and me?" Sky demanded.

"Does this really count as being in bed with you?" drawled another familiar voice. Ghost. Spike jerked his head to the right, and there was Ghost, leaning back at his ease and sucking on a lollipop. "I mean, we're all fully clothed, you guys are the only ones underneath the sheets, it's not like we actually watched you engage in la grande heterosis or anything. If you did. Which, of course, is between the two of you and nobody else's business, as you so often insist."

"Unless, of course, any sex tapes are made and leak out," said a third new voice. Sky groaned and smacked his forehead as he turned to see Bastet, who had suddenly appeared next to Bridge. She, too, was sitting cross-legged and also eating a meat bun.

"At least you weren't the pregnant one," Ghost grumbled. Companion laughed, but Sky was puzzled. What were his friends doing here? More than that, how had they snuck in without him noticing, how did they all fit on one bed, and why was Companion not bothered by this?

"Uhm, hold on for a bit," said Sky. "I, ah, need to go to the bathroom." This was getting too surreal. He let himself out of Companion's room and, after all that, was somehow not at all surprised to see Stoneface standing down the hallway, smoking a cigar. A giggling Blood was playing at his feet.

"Hope that truncheon I gave you didn't burn up, lad," he said. "You just don't find weapons like that everywhere, you know."

"I, ah... hope not, either," said Sky, swallowing. "Excuse me for a minute, sir..." He passed an open room from which he could hear loud chatter and turned to see, of all things, Prongs, Pinky, Storm, and many others all getting facials. Nearby, Kanin and Alexi were practicing guitar while Scales did yoga, and Fallen and East played chess over cups of tea.

"What's going on?" Sky demanded, holding his head, before everything around him went black, and he seemed to be floating in nothingness. His own voice then rang out, booming inside his own head.

Spike. Sky Tate. You can't seem to decide who you really are. The Ranger or the Guard. Does it really matter, though? Your pre-Edensphere world has run together with this one and made you who you are now. Stop trying to separate the two. Let them meld into the person you REALLY are. Embrace the changes that have happened to make you even better. And never, EVER forget your loved ones- the ones who supported you in the past and continue to do so now.

An emergency happened, Sky. S.P.D. Emergency. You tried to help and got burned for your troubles. But now it's time to go. No matter how many times you fall, no matter how many times your wings are clipped, you have people who are counting on you. Don't let them down.
