Dorm life is wonderful when you're in a single.
It's a very spacious room--aparently it's as big as the smallest double rooms.
Look at all the furniture they provided me! That's even their mini-fridge.
I got lucky with a corner room...although nice there is no lakeshore breeze leaving my room incredibly hot.
And finally...my spacious closet. Who designs a closet with two racks one in front of the other? Needless to say I don't use my closet as much as I probably could if it had a better design.
So beyond getting settled and what-not I've been missing my friends but enjoying the process of making new ones. Shannon and I still hang out a lot when we've got the time. Japanese homework takes up most of my free time; the teacher expects us to study at least two hours a day. Let's just say that it's a LOT of homework and studying. My other classes aren't too bad, but I don't know when or how difficult they are going to get.
The hills are killing my feet, surprisingly moreso than my body. I thought I would be crazy out of shape, but the walking hasn't been too bad if only I had better shoes. It's too hot to wear comfortable tennis-shoes without looking like a freak, so I've been trucking it to class in flip-flops and flats. However, I hope to have the remedy for my sore feet...I bought new shoes today that look cute with (hopeful) comfort.
Well, I wanted to let you all know what my room looks like and what I've been up to. I'm looking forward to the weekend; I'm hoping that mom, Amy, and momma K will come visit me on Friday. And then next week I'm coming home briefly and also probably going into Chicago to pick up Matt from school. Yay for Tim! Yay for tattoos!
xoxo.
and i'm off to do more 'Nihongo' homework.
