People wonder why I care so much more about animals than people. Because people are assholes and douchebags. They kill animals for sport. And they can be really mean to each other. But there are good people who do what they can, even die, to save animals. I did my small part and adopted Franz Ferdinand, who was a feral kitten. (I need a "who rescued whom" bumper sticker.) I also volunteered at an animal shelter and worked at an emergency vet. Petmsart has saved over 6 million dogs and cats.

To be fair, animals can be assholes at times too. Last night, Clarence sat on my head and farted--I would have excused this occurrence as an accident, but this is the fourth time it's happened.

But I share your larger point--all living things have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for your efforts to help your fellow creatures. ;)
