I just got a $130 ticket for failing to yield to traffic while making a left turn. I was on my bike. I may get points on my license and I may have to pay more for car insurance. It's time to burn down the police station.

I quote Daryn, regarding bike usage: "If you're on the street, you're on your own."

Also, I would have thought having a car would temper your bicyle-based exuberance.

illegal left turns (if that is indeed what you were 'charged' with) don't elicit points on your license - i should know, i've gotten several of those types of tickets... not sure about insurance, but i don't think that's an issue, either.

on your BIKE, though? that fuckin' sucks, for real...
