My grandma called me (way) early Saturday morning and invited me to dinner. If I'd taken Arabic instead of French and Spanish, I'd have a sweet job waiting for me after graduation. Of course, it would entail going to Iraq as a private contractor.
This is the last thing I expected to be posted on craigslist.
I can see from my desk in my room that a man in an unmarked red cargo van is throwing plastic bags stuffed with something from the passenger window and onto my lawn. I lost count after 15. Now some sketchy guy in a hoody is picking through them. I think they're phone books, but they might be bombs.
Some guy I just met is apparently sleeping on my couch tonight. All of our vacant rooms have been opened up for guests. I just took an amoxicilin pill and I think it pushed me over the edge. After two weeks of persistent phlegm, I decided to see a doctor. Turns out I have bronchitis. I will not let it ruin my New Year's Eve. I've mixed booze and antibiotics before with manageable consequences
