My mum died today. She was 58. Only found out about 2 hours ago and i dont know what to do with myself. When i was growing up she was an alchoholic. Still is/was. I had an awful childhood (from the age of 12 to 18) So i feel weird about it. I love(d?)her, but i didn't like her alot of the time. But she was my mum ( Read more... )

I don't know you, but just wanted to tell you sorry about your losses. Because its when the first parent dies, that your childhood irrevocably dies as well and you've become forevermore an adult.

hey, you sent this in february, and i just want to thank you for taking the time to write it.
Things have gradually got easier, but you're right. I'm more of a grown up now :(

Burying a parent ... it's one of those things almost everybody has to do in their lifetime. Most of us have to do it twice. So perhaps it's a bit of a comfort knowing that one isn't alone in doing so. If you have siblings, that helps though.
And let's face it, it's better this way than the other way round as a parent having to bury a child is ultimately the most cruel thing life can offer. Take care...

Oh Honey, I'm so sorry, I understand your pain it's hard to lose a loved one. I'm sure she's in a better place now looking over you, and wanting you to know that she's happy and well. Look after yourself, if you ever need to talk, i'm here. *Hugs*
